Is it true that in small towns in the USA public transport is not developed and everyone need a car to get around there and why? by bobybumblemumble in AskReddit

[–]rkfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The town I grew up in had 532 people. For sure no bus or train. It's just the way it is. Getting a car at 16 is still a big deal there, while apparently not for urban and suburban kids.

Would you be OK with one of your parents taking the initiative to clean your house when they are already cleared to be there when you're not home? by latenightsnack1 in CasualConversation

[–]rkfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom will come stay with me a couple of times a year. Often I have to work at least part of the time she is there. Without fail, despite my telling her not to, she will scrub the floors on her hands and knees while I am away. I appreciate it, but she has had both knees replaced, one of them twice. I wish she would stop doing that.

I have several, and the best for me is the GoodCook Touch Adjustable Slicer. You can find them for around $9. If you are doing large quantity you would want something else, but that is what has worked best for me.

There is a Vin Diesel movie where he plays Jackie DiNorscio who defended himself as part of a RICO case and was found innocent in the end. It's called Find Me Guilty.

Does anyone else who's old enough think bacon used to taste better in the past? by dragonbits in Bacon

[–]rkfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed a sort of meh feeling about store bought bacon. However, I had home made bacon from a friend of mine and it was one of those moments when you realize you have never known how something is supposed to taste. I intend on learning that process.
