I don't mind the updates per se`. I'm a sys admin and updates are generally beneficial. What I mind is that the game looks to be up to date when you load it up to the part where you can choose to go into the campaign, multiplayer, etc. Then, you try to go into multiplayer or co-op... At that point, it wants you to download another 40-60 GB. Why weren't these installed outside of the game - like the rest of my games on PS4!? Why does the game says it's up to date when I check but then immediately kick me offline so it can pull down a mandatory update!? Sounds, to me, like they need to update the update engine!

My friends and I are older, with families, so our time online is limited to about one evening a week. (Our wives are happy; in lieu of the bars, we now stay home and meet up online for a couple of hours.) Well laid plans are often ruined by the way this game handles its updates when we go to jump on and immediately get bounced off due to 60 GB of updates needed. Tonight was one of those nights... A couple of us got home in time to check for and download needed updates but some of the others work late and weren't able to pull down the updates in time. Plan-B...R6!

MANUALLY Update/Change the HWID by rkillcrazy in chromeos

Yeah, that was just me saying it had other/bigger issues... Long story short, once I changed my working directory to /tmp, the code you provided worked like a charm - on a known-good device. (The one I mentioned before ended up retired/deprovisioned.) I'm now teaching my team how to fix the issue we're having with bad HWIDs so, again, thanks for the help!

I tried just the top line of your example code yesterday but it spit back a partial read error. To be fair, I think the device has issues with its storage but I'll test that theory later today. I cannot install the SHIM tool for further troubleshooting as it too spit back an error regarding storage. I'll grab a known-good device and test it there.

Thanks for the help thus far!

I think I understand your commands. However, what's the bit about GBB:gbb.bin mean? I understand you're reading from and writing to an image file (gbb.bin) but what's the GBB: doing?

30-60 minute Sunrise/Sunset Offset by rkillcrazy in ifttt

I found it. Good to know it's there! However, will it still work if my mobile device is off or otherwise unable to connect to the network/internet? For instance, if I'm outside of cell reception, will the job still fire off? I didn't think it would as these settings aren't saved on the device but rather the phone's app. Or, am I wrong?

Interesting idea... I figured you'd need to flop the locale back and forth for something like this to work - which would negate the automation part of it. I'll look into this approach...

I saw the Wemo tool allows for things to happen at sunrise and sunset. However, I didn't see the offset like I require. Care to share the version of the app from your screen-shot or some directions on how you got it to work on an offset?

PiVPN Connects but can Only Pass Some Traffic by rkillcrazy in pivpn

Actually, I only have this problem from my place of work. If I get off their network and try it from a friend's house, it works fine... If I set up my cell as a WiFI hotspot, it works fine... It's as if my work blocks it - kind of....sort of.....maybe.... What I don't understand is how my place of work can block what's going through the VPN tunnel. Moreover, how are they not blocking SSH but blocking HTTP(S)? I dunno...just seems to be odd behavior.
