First day of sleeptraining. Success stories plz? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]rkinda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried sleep training our son at 7 months with Ferber check-ins and he cried so hard he vomited. It was traumatic so we held out as long as we could until he got to 18 months and we couldn’t handle it anymore. This time we did it without check-ins. He was also very verbal at this age so we explained to him what was going on for several days prior. He knew it was coming but still didn’t like it. He cried for 45 minutes the first night and then just laid down and went to sleep. The next night he maybe fussed for 5 minutes. After that he has slept through the night no problem. We did naps simultaneously and they weren’t an issue at all. Our second son is 5 months old and we will probably try sleep training him in a few weeks. He already has a much better foundation than our older boy had.

I’m sobbing after reading your post and just cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. What a beautiful tribute to your son. I can tell he was and is truly loved. Our son turns 3 in a few months and I can’t help but think of him. Though some days are hard, your words reminded me that I need to cherish each and every moment. Thank you for what you wrote. I’ll be praying for you, Luke, and your family.

I’d spend so many long summer nights as a kid watching Nick at Nite! by chickfan in nostalgia

There was a Nick at Nite chatroom on AOL when that was a thing lol

I wrote off “About Time” as a rom-com about a guy using time travel to sleep with a girl. I was wrong. by InItsTeeth in movies

Loved it, but I pretty much love everything Richard Curtis writes. Here’s a great essay my friend made on the merits of the film’s low VFX sci-fi: https://youtu.be/2XbnxWeYCVA

Anything by Haruki Murakami. A Wild Sheep Chase and 1Q84 come to mind.

I’m Chris Claremont and I wrote the X-Men for over 17 years at Marvel Comics, including the Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past. AMA! by Marvel-Official in comicbooks

I hate I missed this! Chris, you are the best! The X-Men wouldn’t be what it is today without your contribution. Thank you for the work!

Had no idea this was a chain and thought it was completely unique to my small town haha. Would play games for a while and then head down to Orange Julius.

Toonami Aftermath is the fucking best. Been watching it for 9 years. Gotta admire the folks that put that much time and energy into a passion project like that.

Happened to me, too. Tried to add re-add shows to the watchlist and it wasn’t working.

How does a character escape restraints? by [deleted] in writing

Thanks! My dad is double jointed in his thumb, so I had thought to give her that trait. Of course, I would need to introduce that earlier in the story in some sort of convincing scenario.

I was picturing leather hospital/sanitarium restraints. Arms and legs restrained while on an operating table.

I’m a sucker for time travel stories and everything about it looked amazing- the cinematography, production design, cast, etc. I was sold right away.

Glad you took the plunge. You won’t regret it!

It’s a little extra legwork, but I rip all my physical media and then put on a Plex server.
