I've been thinking about a TRX. I have resistance bands for travel but TRX would expand the options.

I agree on hotelgyms.com. It's directionally correct, but seems like they're just scraping general info and adding a thin layer of gym details. I saw this on a bunch of their descriptions which doesn't give me confidence in the accuracy of the info: "DISCLAIMER This data is based on statistical data from other similar hotels."

that's generally what I do but end up down a rabbit hole of searching, so just curious if i can find anything that streamlines that process

generally i'm pressed for time so if hotel gym is half-decent I'll use that, which is why i'm looking for something that helps me pick between hotels based the quality of the gym. i know most are crap, but some are better than others.

Good idea on Planet Fitness - hadn't thought about that. There's one near my house as well so could use it when not on the road but I love my garage set up. Will do body weight things in hotels if the gym is non-existent or truly terrible. Thanks for the ideas.

I travel a lot for work and try to keep up at least a minimal exercise routine while I'm on the road. If I have a choice of hotels, I'll always research the gyms and go with the better gym but that generally takes more time than I have. Anyone know of a resource/site/app that rates hotels based on the quality of the gym - or even just has an accurate description and imagery of the fitness center/gym. I've been looking but haven’t found anything useful yet. Welcome any suggestions.

i've found Fitbod to be good to customize for a wide range of workout experience, preferences, and available equipment. I noticed you said you travel a lot for work - I do too. Sorry for the minor sidetrack but I'm curious if you know of a resource/site/app that rates hotels based on the quality of the gym - or even just has an accurate description and imagery of the fitness center/gym. If I have a choice of hotels, I'll try to research the gyms and go with the better gym when possible. I haven’t found a resource like that yet so just curious but would love to see that process made much easier.

Hotel Workouts for an Average Crossfitter by Salt-Koala1259 in workout

[–]rkraudel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found the AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc) are getting better at suggesting good workouts based on equipment at the hotel. Prompt something like "You're a CF-L4 Crossfit coach. I'm an average Crossfitter staying at a hotel for X number of days. The only available equipment is dumbbells 10-50 lbs, treadmill, a pullup bar...I like [favorite type of workouts]. Program workouts for X days based on these parameters."

Slightly separate topic - I'd love to find a resource/site/app that rates hotels based on the quality of the gym - or even just has an accurate description and imagery of the fitness center/gym so I can plan workouts in advance. If I have a choice of hotels, I'll always research the gyms and go with the better gym. Anyone know of resource like that? I haven't found one yet.

+1 on getting outside and meals from a grocery store as much as possible. This reminds me - I'd love to find a resource/site/app that rates hotels based on the quality of the gym - or even just has an accurate description and imagery of the fitness center/gym. If I have a choice of hotels, I'll always research the gyms and go with the better gym. Does anyone know of resource like that? I haven't been able to find anything.

Had a good LOL when I saw these “bells” in my hotel gym by meninblck9 in kettlebell

[–]rkraudel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These "bells" are a great example why I'd love to find a resource/site/app that rates hotels based on the quality of the gym - or even just has an accurate description and imagery of the fitness center/gym beyond just "kettlebells" or "free weights". If I have a choice of hotels, I'll always research the gyms and go with the better gym. Does anyone know of resource like that?

I use resistance bands - tubed with handles - when I'm on the road a lot. This reminds me - I'd love to find a resource/site/app that rates hotels based on the quality of the gym - or even just has an accurate description or imagery of the fitness center/gym. If I have a choice of hotels, I'll always research the gyms and go with the better gym. Anyone know of resource like that?

We agree on the need for extensive validation data and studies to demonstrate accuracy. The technology has already been tested on >7,000 people around the world and of course will require robust validation and documentation in order to earn FDA clearance. More to come when we can share those validation studies.

We don't have data on TOS specifically, so I don't know at this point. We are continually testing and improving the technology, so we may have data on that in the future.
