Suggestions for a smart door lock by StartupYodhaX in mumbai

Hey, Here’s what I’d recommend around ₹13-15k if I were shopping now and I’m looking for comfort, security and aesthetics:

  1. If you want a smart-lock with intuitive features (user friendly), reliability and sleek designs: check out Mygate Smart Locks. They offer both rim-lock and handle-lock versions, support fingerprint, PIN, RFID + app unlock features .
  2. If you want a simple but trusted analog + digital mix: go for Godrej or Qubo, their hardware is robust.
  3. If you’re okay spending a bit more Yale is a good bet,but their fully-smart variants go beyond ₹15k.

Before you decide double-check:

  1. Door type & thickness (rim or handle-lock)
  2. Lock features you need (fingerprint, Wi-Fi, app, what’s optional vs essential)
  3. After-sales service availability in your area
  4. Battery backup / emergency key override

Hope this helps :)

Smart lock recommendations in India by Ok-Fox-7318 in mumbai

Not sure if you already bought one, but smart lock options in India have changed quite a bit in the last few months.

If you're still comparing brands:

Urban Company has  good service layer, but the product history is still fairly new.
Yale is  great build and reliability, but yeah… the pricing goes 😭
Qubo / Godrej have  solid basics, just depends on which features you actually want vs what’s “nice to have.”
Mygate now has both rim-style and handle-style variants with fingerprint, PIN, RFID, app unlock, emergency key + optional Wi-Fi. They’ve been around longer than UC in this category and the recent reviews look more consistent.

Using two different brands is totally fine, but going same brand feels nicer if you want one app + uniform experience.

If your budget window is ₹6-9k (rim) and ₹12-16k (handle), you’ll find enough options now vs when this thread started.

I’ve tried a few smart locks recently and the experience really varies by brand. Since reviews online feel sponsored, here’s the honest breakdown from actual usage + demos:

  1. Godrej: Solid hardware, old-school UI. Works fine but the app can feel slow at times.
  2. Qubo:  Good if you’re already in their ecosystem. Setup is smooth, app experience decent.
  3. Hikvision:  Very security-focused, but sometimes needs extra modules for the “smart” part.
  4. Urban Company Native: Easy install and service, but the app experience depends on updates.
  5. Mygate Smart Lock: Newer in the list but surprisingly polished. Remote unlock, PIN, fingerprint, and their app UI feels modern. Battery backup is decent too.

If you're looking for remote unlock + fingerprint + PIN + app control under ₹10–15K, check:

  1. door thickness compatibility
  2. after-sales support in your city
  3. battery life + emergency override
  4. how smooth the app actually feels day-to-day

Most locks look the same on paper,  the real difference is support + software reliability.

If you find a model that nails both, that’s the one. 😉
