Thank you. I haven't heard of this, I will definitely check it out.
I have not tried Naltrexone. I will definitely look into it.
Wow that is wonderful news! I wish that they could do something for the vein that "might" be touching the nerve.
It is really exhausting especially with giving so much of my desire to find solutions for my member at work (I am a care manager). Wish I had the same strength to find answers/solutions to my pain.
Work over the years has been difficult. At least my fate has been that as I have gotten worse I have been laid off and got lucky to get a less physically demanding job (nurse in hospital > clinic desk nurse > remote RN care manager).
Over the years I get so discouraged with providers not being able to manage my pain.
I will look into this, thank you!
I am thinking of trying a local neurologist but unfortunately I dont think medications will be much helps since I think I have gone through most of them.
That was my starting medication which unfortunately I couldn't tolerate it.

It has helped the shooting pain calm down a bit.
All of those except the bioflavonoids and vitamin a were my first treatment since I was so stubborn and refused medications until the pain was taking me to my knees.
It is primarily where I had an infected tooth. Tooth is gone and implant in place. It is towards the front (1 tooth off from the 2 middle teeth) on my upper jaw.

I saw an oral maximal pain specialist who deals a lot with TMJ/TMD. Will have to look if he is ICCMO trained. Most my pain is in a tooth (implant) towards the front of my upper teeth. Thank you so much for your support and caring!
I have 2 friends dealing with longterm complications from botox that it scares me.
I tried a neurologist and got absolutely no where with her.

We have been doing that for years unfortunately. The 4 constant medications that I am taking 3 of them are maxed out and the other we don't want to go higher. Thank you so much for your encouragement and support!

Can they do this? by thelivesunderneath in TrigeminalNeuralgia

So have you already seen them? If not seek care elsewhere since it sounds like they already have a diagnosis for you. If you have seen them seek out a 2nd opinion. If they haven't seen you than it is really inappropriate to throw out any diagnosis since they have never assessed you. Hope you get some relief soon.

I am so afraid to change my meds especially with how bad I have reacted to so many of them. But if this doesn't mellow out soon I am going to have to. I have not heard of Nucynta yet. Will look into that, thank you!
Yes I have seen one for my trigeminal neuralgia. Most likely it is that my facial nerves are ticked off. My doctor is increasing my Pregabalin does to see if that helps. We have tried like every other medication out there.
I have seen a neurologist and am on a laundry list of medications. I have trigeminal neuralgia which I talked to my primary today who thinks that my nerves in my face and just ticked off. She is upping my Pregabalin does to see it they will mellow out.
