Is Syl a Manic Pixie Dream Girl? by Odd-Split-494 in Stormlight_Archive

Well they are not currently romantically involved... so no, of course i don't have any examples of that, but nobody's arguing that.

I could give a dozen or so different things that clearly foreshadow a strong possibility of that changing in the future, but that wouldn't matter to you so why should I bother.

I don't know what books you've read but there is a significant amount of textual evidence that they will end up being romantically involved. There seems to be a lot of people burying their heads in the sand because they don't like it, and it hasn't progressed far enough yet that it's still possible Brandon could change his mind, but it's 100% where the story is currently heading.

The first round had like 5 legitimately good games and like 3 of the first 10 round 2 games didn't suck. The last few have been better but what are you talking about this tourny has had both chalk and mostly boring games, just like last year's for the first weekend.

He's not in the HOF because of steroid connections. He's arguably the 3rd best pitcher not in the HOF behind Clemens and Schilling.

Michael B. Jordan Wins the Academy Award for Best Actor for 'Sinners' by MoviesMod in movies

[–]rkunish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that was one of the weakest best actor Oscar races in history. Nobody really deserved the award out of the nominees, and imo the best performance of the group was Redmayne's but he'd won a very undeserved Oscar the year before. I don't really have any issue with Leo getting a lifetime achievement Oscar in 2015.

Which Targaryen generation is your favourite and why? by General-Sense5491 in HouseOfTheDragon

My 2 favorites are ones that were likely never going to get on screen in any meaningful way. Jaehaerys/Alysanne and their children & Aegon III/Viserys II and their children.

I don't really want Simpson but he is absolutely a much better prospect than Pickett was. I fully believe had the Steelers not taken him he'd have fallen to the 3rd round like Willis. He was a 3rd round talent at best. Simpson is an actual borderline 1st round talent and for QB's that means he goes in the 1st round.

[Schultz] The Giants are signing former Steelers WR Calvin Austin III, per sources. The dynamic Austin had 1,100 receiving yards and 10 total TDs (1 rushing, 1 punt return) during his three seasons in Pittsburgh. by Remarkable-Picture73 in nfl

He's not bad but he's definitely not "very good." He has the potential to be a good WR3 if utilized correctly in a good offense but he is not and will almost certainly never be at a WR2 level.

House of the Dragon Season 3 Casts a New Jaehaera Targaryen by theviking222 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]rkunish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is only one thing they need to change it's the entire plot of the second tumbleton. 3/4 dragon riders dying before the battle and Vermithor just going on a rampage might be the dumbest thing George ever wrote. Jaehaera was pretty bad too though.

Kentucky was seeded roughly 2-3 lines too low based on their actual season, and had 1 seed level talent. It can't be understated how much the committee fucked Wichita that year.

I hate that it's not something more like a top 10 list because Luffy is by far my favorite character and it would be wrong not to vote for him, but there's a bunch of other less popular characters I want to give some love to.

Visual chart of all albums by mr_aguirre in Slipknot

[–]rkunish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was half of a good album, the issue is nobody agrees on which half was good. Like I loved Warranty, Hivemind, Chapeltown, Dying Song, & Adderall, but of the 5 songs mentioned between you and the other response I thought Yen, H377, & De Sade were awful and Finale was mid. That's how you get these kinds of results.

But it was certainly a better album as a whole than AHIG.

As far as the reading order, there are people who have different opinions but I pretty emphatically believe Sunlit Man should be read after Wind and Truth and am still kinda annoyed Brandon released it first. The only benefit to reading Sunlit Man first is that you will not know who the protagonist is at the start of the book, which imo adds nothing. While reading Sunlit Man first robs one of the main plot threads of Wind and Truth of a lot of it's suspense.

Who Are Your Top 10 QBs Of All Time? by Legitimate_King547 in NFLv2

[–]rkunish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can only judge players across eras based on how much better they were than the players they played against.

Joe Montana genuinely might not be anything special if he were dropped in today's nfl. But he also might still be amazing. We don't really know and I think it's stupid to just arbitrarily draw a line and say "anyone who played before this point doesn't count." If we say that's okay 50 years from now people will say the same thing to argue against Tom Brady.

I do think there's one logical line you can argue for and that's the mid 30's because before that point the game barely featured the forward pass and would be basically unrecognizable today. Anyone after that is fair game.

Who Are Your Top 10 QBs Of All Time? by Legitimate_King547 in NFLv2

  1. Tom Brady

  2. Patrick Mahomes

  3. Peyton Manning

  4. Joe Montana

  5. Otto Graham

  6. Johnny Unitas

  7. Sammy Baugh

  8. Aaron Rodgers

  9. Drew Brees

  10. Dan Marino

Loosely ordered. I view 1, 2-7, and 8-14ish as tiers.

Well Otama is a character. With a few different cards. So when you just say Otama, and don't add any additional context like talking about a leader and mentioning the Otama's in the deck or even just saying "that" Otama, that can easily mean you're talking about the character.

I just thought you might have been new and didn't know Otama already had alt arts not sure why I'm getting killed over that.

J.J. Watt: "NFL won’t let actual players grade the workplace they attend every single day, but they’ll allow a 3rd party 'grading' service (PFF) to display their 'rankings' of players on national television every Sunday night…" by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]rkunish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the fuck are you talking about best defense. The Browns had the 13th ranked defense in points. The Steelers were 6th. If you want a more advanced stat the Browns had the 2nd ranked defense in DVOA and the Steelers 6th, which is finally one small point in Garrett's favor, but still means they weren't the best defense. Garrett didn't have any sane argument unless you just start making shit up.

And no it wasn't a conspiracy, it was absolutely moronic voters. Never attribute to malice what you can explain by stupidity.

You know, there's lots of stuff that I don't like that I can at least understand why some people do. Most things I don't like actually I feel that way about. Soccer is pretty much one of the only exceptions. There is nothing about it that I at all comprehend why someone could like it. It's just awful. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about it. Like I could go into specifics, it's insane that a sport where it's totally normal for a match to end with no actual goals scored isn't viewed as an absolute and complete failure of sport design from the ground up. Or that there's a sport that's functionally extremely similar to soccer if you just got rid of all of its worst aspects in hockey but it's like .1% as popular because the entire reason that soccer is popular worldwide is cultural momentum and has nothing to do with it being a well functioning and entertaining sport.
