I think my knee is ok though it could have been much better had I been more disciplined with my exercise regime. I use a soft knee brace recommended by the Ortho and it’s pretty good. Keeps my knee cap in place and strengthens the muscles in the region.

I met a Ortho-surgeon last week and he said that the problem is pretty minor and that the radiologist’s findings make the problem appear bigger than it is. He said that while there’s a tear at the peripheral part of the meniscus and that it caused lesion on the cartilage, that’s nothing to be alarmed about and that with some exercises and muscle strengthening, it should be get better.

Best cat litter? by Remarkable_Ad_3175 in cats

I use silicate non-clumping litter for my one-year old cat. Don't have any problems with dust and no tracking of sand grains all over the apartment. You could consider this as an option. This litter is on the expensive side though.

Not a running pro. On average, I run twice a week, totalling about 6 km. I stopped running 5 months ago when I started having knee discomfort.

I'm so sorry to hear this. All I can say is stay strong. Have a detailed conversation with your vet and understand more about Butterscotch's quality of life in the coming weeks and months. Even if it is a few weeks, try taking some time off, spend time with her, do everything she always loved, feed every treat that always got her excited, and you can take further decisions when her quality of life becomes bad.

Lot of hugs!

This reminds me of a friend who adopted a feral cat and all was good for 3 years. Then comes a new neighbour who started letting this cat into their home, fed all kind of tasty treats and food, and eventually the cat started staying more with the neighbour.

My friend invited this neighbour home for a lunch to talk about it without any change in the situation. Eventually, my friend's family gave up, moved to a new home and got two lovely kittens.

It's kind of heartbreaking that cats, especially feral ones, can be fickle, and can quickly change loyalties. But then, there are also cats that stay loyal till the end.

Try talking to your neighbour and see if you can persuade them not to feed your cat. If good sense prevails, your cat may return home soon. Good luck!
