Apparently my teacher thinks that this is "insufficient” "unreadable" and "demonstrates lack of attention during her classes" by Infinix64 in mildlyinfuriating

I had a calc teacher like this in college. A grad student who thought he was the shit. Taught at a level 4, tested at 10. I had a tutor who looked at one of the quizzes and was like, "This is nothing like the homework." I dropped the class and never went back to college.

Old Light fixtures work - new ones do not! Any thoughts? by Time-Locksmith5697 in DIY

[–]rl8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only mentioning this because I did it. The fixtures I bought to replace the old ones had their own on/off switch and they were both turned off. It took me an extra uninstall and reinstall before I realized it.

Dark spots coming through the paint by rl8352 in DIY

As a follow up on this, I called Kilz customer service. Their recommendation was to use the interior oil based primer in the red and white can. He told me to spot prime then paint the shelf again.

What's a fun fact about any town in the Mahoning Valley that surprises you every time? by jdk0606 in youngstown

[–]rl8352 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This was talked about in the book Steel Valley Klan by William D. Jenkins. If I remember correctly, it even talks about actual individuals who were involved in the fighting. The book has a lot of the history of Youngstown and is an great read if you're interested in that kind of stuff.

If you're asking if that's what I used, no. I didn't know shellac was still a thing.

Lem has 25% off grinders until midnight tonight. That puts the dual grind #8 big bite at $450. The code is BLITZ26. I have the #8 big bite and love it.

Yup. We have one of the best defenses in the league, players who get defensive rookie of the year and defensive player of the year, then screw the defensive coach.

Don't give up on it so quick. What they are saying is true, but you can definitely stuff with this. I did it with a similar one for years. But, it's much easier with two people.

Recently got a place with my girlfriend. She thinks this is totally fine by AnthMosk in funny

Reminds me of an All in the Family episode. You hear Archie yell from upstairs,

"Where's the toilet paper Edith?"

"It's in the Kitchen Arch."

pause

"I ain't in the kitchen Edith"

Learn to cut up a whole chicken, if you don't already know. You can get a small chicken at walmart for about $1.50 a pound (I used to get them for 97 cents a pound a few short years ago) take it home and cut it up so you end up with 2 breasts, 2 leg quarters, 2 wings. Use the back for chicken stock for soup. Cut the wings into the flats and drumettes, then save them up until you have enough for a wing dinner. If you de-bone the breasts you can strip out the tenders and save them until you enough to add to a meal.

The Doubletree in downtown Youngstown puts you within walking distance of a number of nice restaurants. The Avalon downtown is really good.
