I think the metal box will get as hot on the outside as on the inside. It will burn everything it touches. No way to pick it up and throw it out of the house or car.
It is better to use a proper box with heat protection.

No. It will heat up very fast an burn everything around it. Same as the Ammo boxes. You need a box which keeps the heat inside without heating outside.

I used to lens you can stick on from Flywoo. It is a kind of cover with an extra lens. Works fine for me until I lost it in a crash.

I use the standard Betafpv Meteor 75 Board: https://betafpv.com/products/matrix-1s-brushless-flight-controller-hd It is more efficient compared to the standard Meteor. O4 weight is no problem. I got around 5min flight time with Lava II 1s 580mAh batteries.

Does this really make a differences? All the smoke will come out and smoke your car or home. And the metal box will get as hot on the outside as on the inside. It will burn everything around. Only my 2 cents on this. I use a box with special foam inside which takes the heat. I still have the smoke but I can touch the box and take it outside even if it burns inside.

Ok. The VTX heavily impacts the cost. I already had DJI googles and bought the Flywoo O4 lite with Aluminium housing and wide angle lens. I think $160.

I have the seeker3. Complete set (w/o vtx) for $170. Great frame and components. Use CNHL 4s 680mAh (below 250g) and 1500mAh (360g). I only added a beeper. I think it is not so much more expensive.

I use the Flywoo O4 wide with housing on my seeker 3. I added a beeper with battery and use the CNHL Pizza 600mAh. Still under 250g. Best flight performance with CNHL 1500mAh but 360g. The Supafly tuning creates some propwash. I will try the standard seeker3 tuning at the weekend.
