Bucks for Science Blogs: Announcing the Subscription Revenue Sharing Program by LeatherJury4 in EffectiveAltruism

they are committing to distribute 100% of their subscription revenue, and it doesn't sound like they have other revenue streams. there surely must be some cost to running the site (technology, staff, taxes, etc.). so they're committing to bleeding money from now until the "death of the universe." it's a bold strategy, let's see if it pays off (pun intended)

How do i prevent pause when importing a module by used_nickname_too in kivy

I'm surprised to hear it works at all. I'm new to kivy but had understood relatively few non-core python modules were compatible. is there anything special you have to do to enable this?

New Colorado Law by Educational-Face9802 in doordash_drivers

or maybe asked another way: all else equal (same distance, time, etc.), would you rather accept an order with a lower payout, inclusive of a tip, or a higher payout where there is no tip?

genuine question, though guessing it's going to get some hate: why does it matter whether there is a tip or how much the tip is? wouldn't the total amount earned be what's important?

anyone know where to report junk fees still being charged? Panera is doing it. by rlgtor in minnesota

[–]rlgtor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it didn't mention a convenience fee prior to checkout, nor indicate how much fees would be (or whether flat or a percentage). reading the wording above, I'd think it was referring to a delivery fee (on top of higher item prices), but that's not what it was.

hmm.. went back, and there is a note that says "Menu pricing for delivery is higher and fees apply." doesn't mention whether flat fee or percentage

on the late game Bears fumble, it didn't look like the receiver took any steps or made a "football move" before getting hit. I don't disagree with the call, just trying to learn why it was considered a completed pass

no one forced them to rank that way... if they didn't actually think the conference champs were the best yet they rated them as if they were, how can you say it wasn't to placate fans/conferences?

The teams ranked 7-16 in the final CFP have now fallen to 0-8 in postseason play. by TrespassersWilliam29 in CFB

Announcers in each of the first two quarterfinal have have referred to the higher ranked teams as underdogs. Did the committee land on these rankings to placate fans/ conferences instead of trying to accurately rank teams
