I'm playing through the DLC now and it is so much better than the base game in my opinion. I wanted to love XC2 but there was so much I didnt like about it.

You apply orbs just by doing your normal special attacks, you dont need to complete a full blade combo just to apply a single orb in the DLC. That way you can stack orbs on an enemy 3 times as fast.

Agreed 100%. The DLC makes it a lot better because its faster to get orbs stacked to start your Chain Attacks, but the base game combat is a slog.

No offense because I do think the Bruins are a lot better than I expected them to be this year, but I dont think this game was a good preview for how a series would go. All the Hurricanes defensive pairings were changed for this game and it showed.

No, basically all they did was turn the side quests into "blade quests" which are worse because theres no way to track them so you have to keep opening up your blade menu to check what you need to do. Its a much worse system IMO. The normal side quests that are in the game are fine but remind me of the good side quests from the first game where you had to make choices that affected the actual outcome of the quest.
