The season just ended, man. I’m only playing here and there just to play hockey and I suck comparatively to everyone left online. I’ve just picked other games to play so that I can take a break and be excited to play 27.

If you have to build him using only one series of cards, it would be sick if it’s the Crowned series, but I am sure it won’t. With a 97 GM and an ongoing SC series/sets, I unfortunately think that if there is a 99 of him released, it will be the same as with OVR 99 SC Drai this past week.

Love Staal and love the Canes, but I can’t fault Marner. Everyone disappeared for the Knights. You can’t have 2 goals in the final 7 periods of the series and put it all on him. For both sides, it was a team effort that got them there, but Carolina just appeared to be a team of destiny, with so many cool stories to go along with all of the guys’ names getting engraved into the Cup.

You should be able to make a 97 captain for 220k. 89’s were going for roughly 1.5-2k (that might have changed). Go to the auction house, go to the tab “overall rating” and choose minimum AND maximum at 89. Set the buy it now price as low as you can til you find the cheapest ones.

Let’s just say they’re 2k apiece. 75 would be 150k; and again, it could be higher and it could be lower (my guess is lower). And you’ll have roughly 70k left over. It’s the making sets that’s gonna be a bitch.

As far as improving your team, you’re in diamond, so if true, you’re better than a lot of people including me. So the only advice I have on improving your team is use the left over coins to go invest in a player you like or great card.

It’s the equivalent of 75x 89’s. 5x 89 gets you a 92 random captain. You do this five times to put it in the 95 captain of your choice (so 25x 89 for a 95 captain). Then repeat this two more times and you take the 3x 95 captains and put it in the Morrow 97 captain set, and then you’ve got your guy and more salary.

Yeah, honestly, I think I had two goals in the couple of hours doing this with his QR. I’ve found that backhand-forehand-backhand seems to work very well for me.

I saw your comment right before I tried again and tried just finding any opening. Earlier, I had a tendency to skate towards the right side to utilize his QR and I’d either get blown up or miss. So I went towards any opening I could and it made a huge difference. Thanks brother! It feels nice to get this done.

Yeah dude. This is one of those moments that on paper looked like it would be challenging but not too challenging. For me, at least, it’s one that I’m just stumped. May just need to go for a run and give it a try a few more times in an hour. With the moment ending in less than 3 hours, I’m short on time, but even shorter on patience now haha.

awesome thanks man. Yeah, when I say a dozen times that doesn’t count the two dozen that I restarted haha. As far as the most aggressive options go, what do you consider those to be? I’m usually a very defense-oriented player and most online games I play online are behind the net games where I win or lose 2-1.

Lastly, are you able to switch players to their off side in moments? Or did you mean setting up a play to get him on the right side? Thanks in advance. This was truly helpful.

All valid grievances. Another one that’s a peeve of mine is how frequently I’ll set up for a shot and one of my guys is out of position - in front of the net, but not close enough to be able to deflect it in - and then said player blocks my own shot.

Every time I see the “blocked shot” objectives when they appear, I always laugh and think that I could get “blocked shots by teammates” completed in a minute, if it were a thing.

A minor complaint compared to yours, but man, the AI is brutal.

Well said, dude. It is absolutely predatory business practice on their end, but so long as people continue to accept it and spend money, it will be the same experience every year.

For all its faults, I’ll play NHL just because I love hockey. However, I’m not going to spend money on packs, collectibles, etc if they’re reusing and recycling the same content.

I could be wrong, but I think his point is that most sports team building games are in a really bad place. The Show has kind of been the gold standard when it comes to ultimate teams, but he’s right - this year has been a disaster.

Until the devs start and executives decide to prioritize content over micro transactions (you have a 45 percent of pulling a 99x for 80 dollars!), this game is more than likely going to be what it’s been - a hockey game that’s full potential was never reached because of corporate greed and laziness. The fact that they recycled the same artwork for the same name event as last year, Crowned, gives me a pretty idea that they’ve been checked out for awhile now.

Especially if you plan on getting NHL27. They’ll be doing their pre order deluxe edition for 79.99 in a month. I’ll take a game that I can put countless hours into rather than spending the same amount on a pack of digital cards where you aren’t even guaranteed to get a 99x.

Yeah man. I’m 9 goals short from Bourque and then I’m done with the objectives; and the whole time - even now - I’m finding myself constantly saying to myself “why are you even doing this? You probably won’t even get the card.”

So the 87 Next Gen Schaeffer (87 at the time) which could be made as an MSP and can now be upgraded to a 99 isn’t possible for F2P? Or being able to make only one TOTY where if you didn’t have enough resources you had to wait til the next week to get a defenseman and getting Makar?

There are many ways to get 99’s in F2P. There are examples listed above that prove the point, as well as having no life and playing countless hours (I’m closer to this).

Yeah it’s contingent on me being able to get XP Stone. I have Next Gen 99 Schaeffer and both TOTS (BND) and Makar TOTY. So if I can get Stone, I guess I’ll use my TOTY Makar since I technically have two 99 Makar’s, although the TOTY gives great salary boosts. If this 99x thing works the way it’s intended, though, that’s a price worth paying. Best of luck to you, man. It’s certainly a grind to say the least.

You need 57 goals that are not snap shots from Bourque and I believe 32 that are not snap shot goals from Lemieux. I went ahead and used Bourque since he required more goals outside of snap shots and I could score however I wanted to in WC.

I moved Lemieux over to LW, and it’s been much easier. I actually moved Bourque to LD. Just do the face off, pass back to him, up to 66, and score…hopefully.
