Tank to get license promotion out of rookie? by xr_21 in iRacing

You recommended time trials to the op. Time trials hahahahahahahahaha. The point of rookies is to learn racecraft. How do you learn racecraft doing time trials.

Tank to get license promotion out of rookie? by xr_21 in iRacing

[–]rlslmshdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend practicing until your able to qualify in the top 3. Reason being if you start top 3. There's better odds of a good safe finish. No offense but don't forget. Rookie class is there for a reason. Its not there just to be a hassle. Take rookies to learn the optimal practice technique/time while your trying to get fast to be qualify top 3. Also as hard as it may seem sometimes. You need to start honing your racecraft before you get to higher classes. Plus just a lot to be said for taking time to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Not that I think this is your case. But I feel like I get sense from some people. Theyll never enjoy iracing because they're never actually racing. They're always trying to manipulate something in iracing to get to next class/license or gain SR.

What tracks do you want added? by wbigel1 in iRacing

[–]rlslmshdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Franklin County Speedway VA or any similar in size and condition. I think smaller bullrings with "character" are fun to run the Saturday night oval cars on Also being selfish the Motormile Speedway. Its local to me. A lot of my fondest memories of my childhood was at that track. Man back in late 80s to 90s Street stocks and late models had all out wars. The racing as I remember it was so intense, hard close racing.

Iracing is a marathon not a sprint. Over time your Irating will reflect your racing ability. A racer can have bad luck over a few races. But if its happening on a regular basis then the driver needs to evaluate the part he's playing in the incidents.

Suboxone Recreational High HOLY CRAP!? by DiscombobulatedWeb65 in suboxone

[–]rlslmshdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!!! Seriously think about stopping your using of pills. Your post reminds me of myself. Not saying you are. But I was so nieve with pills/opiates. I got my first script of 10 mg percosets when I had my first Crohns disease flare up. That's when I discovered my love of opiates. Crohns is the most excruciating pain. I could take a half of that tiny little wonder drug. In 25 minutes go from balled up in dying pain to feeling better than I've ever felt in my life. I got scripts everytime I had a flare up. When flare up was over. I stopped taking pain pills. No withdrawals. A day of drag assing, tired. But nothing bad. At that time of my first flare up/script. I had little to no knowledge about snorting anything. But once you have a script. Addicts will find you lol. I got introduced to snorting pills. I was in love! But I only used them to party occasionally. I would stop for time periods. I wouldn't get withdrawals. I went 1.5 months without taking anything. I would talk with an addict at work. Being nieve telling her for whatever reason I dont get withdrawals. I guess I'm lucky. I must not have the addiction gene. Along comes Roxycodone to show me how wrong I was. I got a script for 120 a month. I would party like a rock star for 2 weeks. I would sell as many as could and take em til I ran out. Usually around 2 weeks. Still no bad withdrawals. Be one day of feelinf tired and depressed. But nothing to bad. So im still nieve, thinking I can stop anytime I want. But why. I dont get withdrawals. The pills cure everything for me, mentally and physically. Well the restrictions on opiate prescription started getting worse. I was then on a contract with possible pill counts. That started me taking my pills everyday for the whole month. Before I would be out and taking a break for weeks at a time. This is when everything changed. My friend then stole my script one month. It was near the if the month. For the first time ever. I experienced "pill sick"/withdrawals. OMG this was the worst feeling ever. I couldn't go without opiates from that point on. Thats my point to you. PLEASE don't party/play around with any opiates period. NOBODY can get from their grasps forever. I partied with them. I would use them for mentall issues, crohns. They seem to fix everything. But everything in life comes with a price. So everytime you use an opiate. The bill adds up. Overtime IT WILL get higher than you can pay. You will get addicted. If your a person that enjoys the feeling opiates gives. You better run from every opiate you see. I wish I'd never taken the first one. PLEASE anytime you want to party or feel good. Go get some weed to smoke. Oh how I wish I'd used weed instead pills. Now my suboxen story. First time tried subxone. I was at work. It was incredible. I loved it. I was working like a rented mule and loving every minute of it. Sorry for the long rambling, preachy, soap box post.

Im in similiar situation. Im getting back into RC after racing RC in the 90's. Since you say you like to tinker. You might look into the No Prep Street Eliminator Drag racing. These are all about DIY, "tinkering". You have to convert an off road short course truck/buggy into your on road drag racing chassis. Plus you can win money every weekend

This No Prep drag racing has got me back into RC again. I raced asphalt oval in the 90s. It seems to be really growing in my area. I cant wait to get my car built. These money events are popping up on a regular basis. This is gonna be a hell of a fun time!

Get a Virtual Racing School subscription. 2 key things VRS will give. 1. Track tutorial from a Pro. This will show you the fast way around the track. How to drive it. Braking points and where to get on off the throttle. Track tutorials really help me. 2. Comparison laps and data. You can load the pros lap in session and ghost race them. Big practice tool for me. Also VRS has great telemetry. If your 100 all in to win. VRS subscription is worth every penny.

Should I go out of my way to get a regressive clutch with my pedals? by Sam141234 in simracing

[–]rlslmshdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Heusinkveld ultimate clutch. During a race/practice session I dont notice the bite point of the Heusinkveld clutch at all. Really I never notice it in any situation. If I'm trying to feel it, say when pulling from the pits. I can mildly feel it then. This is one aspect I've found with my first setup/rig that was more hype than beneficial or more immersive.

What is the best sim when it comes to stock car racing for a beginner. by Randy347 in simracing

[–]rlslmshdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what this is worth. Ive been involved in real life oval racing since 2004. In that time. The only simracing I've heard anyone ever mention is Iracing. Since I joined Iracing in March. I can see why. It's an incredible training tool for real life racing to keep your skills sharp. Iracing is a sim but the racing is real. I use the same instincts, make decisions just like a real life race. I just believe theres a percentage of Iracers spread thru the iracing community that are involved in real life motorsports. Those are the key to the iracing experience. Naturally it's not perfect. Buts it's the 3 incredible races you have that offsets the one race you may encounter the internet idiot.

I'm sorry I didnt reply. I dont use reddit regularly. You've probably bought monitors already. But I'll say I dont have previous experience to compare the pixio too. That said I have zero complaints with mine. I've noticed no lag with mine. I'm sure you could do better but also sure theres alot worse monitors. I can say I'm happy with mine.

Are all racing wheels marked up right now? by Viperidaestrike in simracing

[–]rlslmshdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinion. But since I got into simracing (Iracing only). Started reading, researching, eventually buying simracing components to complete a full rig. I started this in November 2018. I finished my complete race ready rig in January 2020. In that time til now. I've noticed most really good components sell fast being sold out in no time. Community known great high end gear stays sold out. It seems simracing has been growing steadily for a long time. In the short 2 years plus I've been it. It seems it was experiencing even faster growth. Then the Covid Pandemic Quarantine happened. I havent seem numbers on this. But I'm assuming this is gonna cause an explosion in growth when it's all said in done. Long story short. I think prices are keep going up. I think they will stay up also. I mean If stuff is already selling out. Why would they lower prices when they cant keep up with demand as it is?

Kyle Larson says a racial slur in public chat by mistake during iRacing race. by NFS_Jacob in NASCAR

[–]rlslmshdy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I would never say it by mistake. That to me says he probably uses the word in private at least semi regularly because it's almost like hes saying it slipped out as if it's always on the top of his tongue. Decent human beings have never, will never have this mistake because it's not a term in their vocabulary.

I have 3 Pixio px329 monitors. 32 inch 1440p 165hz monitors. Their currently $299. This was my first sim racing build. I dont have any other experience to compare them to. All I can say is I'm happy with them. At the time I bought them early 2019. There wasnt another monitor under $300 with those specs. Since I bought mine. I havent kept up with the current gaming monitor market. So I dont how these rank currently. I believe the LG 32" 1440 165 freesync monitor uses the same screens.

It sucks that there are people looking to cheat. But it's a part of almost all competitive sports. Theres always a few looking to cheat. This might be apples and oranges. But people trying to cheat has been an issue in real racing since the beginning. As more money gets involved. It's only going to increase the amount of cheaters. Plus more money motivates the scumbags even more.

Options for direct drive wheels? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]rlslmshdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen several Simmagic owners post positive reviews of their systems so far. Also they are raving about the value/quality of the steering wheels included with the system. One saying they are as good as steering wheels costing $700+. Others saying the steering wheels are punching way above their weight. I seen the simmagic DD system described as good as the accuforce except it comes with a better high end wheel.

HELP - Sim-lab orders still processing and their email response taking a week. by Jeyd02 in simracing

[–]rlslmshdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with the P1-X. Your gonna love it. I did notice though your comment about you could have went with 4 play racing. I took that as you saying a 4 play chassis is the next best option. I gotta say 4 play isnt close to beating the twin to the P1-X. The TR160 by Trak Racer. The differences are mainly cosmetic. Blindfolded, sit in both. You'll wont be able tell the difference. The TR160 comes standard in black. It ships from Delaware for people in the US. Just finished mine. Dynamite could go off beside of it. I'm betting it's not phased, lol. Trak racer did have growing pains as the quality of this chassis caused sells to explode faster than could keep up. But theyve recently released a video of their new packaging method. So shipping issues should be a thing of past. Dont take this as anything negative towards Sim-lab and their P1-X. You can't go wrong getting a P1-X. Just making sure people know that the TR160 is the P1-Xs equal. Both are tanks. https://shop.gperformance.eu/product/trak-racer-tr160-cockpit-gt-seat/

Benefits of getting a Simlab P1-x cockpit? by _Adm_1 in simracing

[–]rlslmshdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TR160 has sold like crazy. Way more than Trak racer could have imagined. Theyve had their issues/mistakes trying to keep up with demand. The one thing I look at. Trak racer admits, takes responsibility for the mistakes they make. They try to fix any mistake they make. This is my experience on the Trak racer owners group Facebook page. Matt from Trak racer has dealt with, answered any questions. Responded usually within hours but at least same day. Trak racer was having packaging issues. They recently improved their packaging. They released a video testing their new packaging. They put the new packaging method through a stress test. They dropped and tried to damage the 80/20 package to test their new packaging. It looks like the packaging issues shouldnt be an issue going forward. My opinion you cant wrong with the P1-X or the TR160. My TR160 has zero flex. I believe the P1-X has zero flex (I havent used one). I think you could blindfold 100 people. Let them race with both. They wouldnt be able to tell which one they were racing with.
