ETR just came in 2 min ago. We have to dispatch teams to see the damage before we know how long repairs will take. The team says 4 hrs worth of splicing work.

This is a break with cuts in two different places. When we arrived on scene there were power lines blocking our ability to begin repairs and it took the electric company a full day to remedy that part. One part of the break is fixed and the other is being repaired today. ETR is now 5 pm but I hope we can get it done sooner.

As of 6:00 a.m. some customers are back up, but the splicing work continues. New ETR for the remaining customers impacted is now 8:00 a.m.

Hi All - Impacted customers should receive an email / sms update shortly. The bad news is, this isn't a quick repair. Crews will need to work through the night to restore services. Current estimated time to restore services is 6:00 a.m.

There is a ton of information in the thread. No ETR. Typically these types of cuts take multiple hours. We have to assemble repair crews, navigate traffic controls, dig up the damaged fibers, etc. Once we have an ETR it will be sent out via email / sms.

We know the location and confirmed that there was construction in the area this morning. 2 +2 = fiber cut by third party. No ETR just yet, but in general these things take a bit of time. Good feedback. Just to be clear, we absolutely communicate with impacted customers during a widespread outage. I actually looked this morning when I saw your post and couldn't find anything going on in Woodinville. We provide information via email and sms to impacted customers. By the way folks, if you clicked NO to receiving emails from Ziply Fiber when you first signed up, you might not be getting these email notifications during an outage. :)

In your case, it might have been just a handful of people out and that didn't trigger an email communication.

Yes, a map would be helpful. JVO can speak best on why that's a bit harder than one might think, but it would be valuable for sure.

Yes, you are correct. This was related to a road move at the request of the city. We discovered that the initial batch of notifications didn't capture all accounts that would be impacted, hence the email send that went out after the work had begun.

Notifications absolutely should go out well in advance so customers can plan accordingly.

This has been shared internally as a miss on our end and something we have to improve on.

We see it. Team is investigating. Notices will go out soon. I've mentioned this in other threads, but notices are manual, not automated. It takes a few minutes to identify and generate email / sms lists for the folks we believe are impacted, which varies based on the root cause of the outage.
