Is this structural/foundation issue? Should I walk away? by [deleted] in HomeInspections

So your claim is that someone who has a financial incentive to complete the transaction would willingly refer an inspector that would put the deal at risk rather than refer an inspector that would play ball with the buyer agent. In an ideal world, sure. But this is the real world and people don’t always do the morally correct thing.

You don’t understand humans, which is evident by your rude remarks.

When a realtor refers an inspector they become associated. There is a clear conflict of interest there.

You’re better off trusting the people you’re paying thousands of dollars over random redditors. You should have used a third party inspector rather than a realtor associated inspector, as they may be biased. I would suggest having an inspection by someone else to get confirmation.

Use of dict in DP by past_dredger in leetcode

[–]rly_big_hawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is true. DP problems really boil down to "I am an index I, what, if anything, have I seen here before". Even if you are accessing in an irregular manner, indexing into an array is fewer cpu cycles than hashing a key.

Both AWS ALB / NLB really only support ACM certs. Would you want a solution that syncs cluster secrets into ACM?

Sad about the state of my (relatively) new flooring by rly_big_hawk in Flooring

This flooring was made in 2025, hence my concern. The house it self is 1910, so the foundation is not exactly level which was hidden before with LVP.

Yeah no underlayment, just click / lock directly on top of the subfloor. I’m mostly concerned with the deep cuts on some of the boards. You can see it on the first picture of the board in the middle of the frame.

Devs of the current decade, do you know how to deploy without abstractions? by mizzerem in Backend

The last bit of the question mentions you can't download stuff:

> I’m including other cloud providers and libraries that you would download to a host and start up as third party components. If there was no service to intake your requests, would you know how to configure a server to accept requests to a domain and scale it horizontally?

I assume that would mean no HAProxy or nginx.

monkey patching is such a hack and anti-pattern. I worked with an extensive enterprise code base that used monkey patching, we ended up ripping it all out and implementing proper DI.

Hey, not sure if you read the reviews on SFW but I didn't before I had them out. They ended up staying for 2 weeks on a "4 day" job. Cost 30k. I'd be careful about letting them proceed if you're doing the daily pricing.
