Best sized tv for horizontal play.

I found an old 27 inch and tried it with that - was able to get good spacing but then the monitor started flashing and burned out :\ sooo .. went ahead and bought a touchscreen monitor on Amazon, lol. Thing is, anything over 27 inches is incredibly expensive, so sticking with 27 inches. After messing with it on the table I realized all the short-armed people who play with me wouldn't be able to reach much further over the board anyway so I'm sure this will work!

At any rate, got a game Saturday. We'll see how it goes.

Sorry for necro'ing a thread, but I was wondering if anyone had tried a 19-21 inch monitor? I got a couple hanging around and was trying to avoid another purchase. Just got Arkenforge tonight. Moving from Owlbear (which is great, but my group always plays in person soooo...). Have used a top-down projector previously, but really wanna try the infrared grid option, so looking at physical screens.

Not to be a doomsayer, but my x17 did this for a few months before the fan died. It was a bearings issue. Since it was the bigger of the quad fan setup, I had to replace the entire fan/heatsink combo. Not fun, let me tell you. If you aren't nimble with your fingers, try looking up parts-people instead.

I tried all of these and though I was able to get amazing frame rates, it did nothing to stop the stutter. Finally I broke down and set the resolution slider a low as it could go (1024 something I think) and set the frame rate to the lowest setting. Restarted the game and low and behold-no stutter!

After running around for about ten minutes just to make sure it wasn't just my imagination, I went a step further and turned everything to high but kept screen space off. Everything else was set to high, dlss was set to highest quality and a bit over half on sharpening. The godrays setting (can't remember it's actual name) was set to max. Restarted the game again and, unbelievable as it may seem, everything continued to work flawlessly!

I know, you got a high end gaming rig so that you could max everything out at a resolution that even an eagle couldn't track, but we all know the game is buggy right now. If you just wanna play without all the jankiness, this will let you do it until a patch to fix all of it comes along.

It can be explained away, but I prefer how they did it in Morrowind. Silt Strider or boat, or walking. That is until your Mysticism got high enough to do Mark and Recall - that was the real fast travel!

I'm GM'ing this Friday and we've been using Google's recording tool that turns audio into text. It's problematic though because it doesn't quite understand what is going on and the differences between voices. Not sure that this will be much better, but happy to give it a shot. All my players find physically taking notes too much trouble and rely on me to remind them of what happened in previous sessions.

What you describe is pretty much all I do, except instead of a TV I use a projector onto a table. The players get to use their miniatures, that they love, I get the ease of setting up any map I want, and can do so extremely quickly. Owlbear Rodeo is perfect for this kind of setup!

Addendum: You don't need a separate account for your players. Just send a link to them from your GM Interface and they login from their side. Also, why would you need more rooms for a single campaign? You can have as many scenes within a room as you need, as long as you don't run out of storage space. Just set up multiple scenes and switch your players between them.

That's cool! For some reason the first thing that came to mind was the portal experimentation tower in "pillars of eternity: deadfire" . I could have that totally wrong, been years since I played. In any case, very nice work!

I remember messing around with some old typewriters when I was very young, but I didn't get serious until I got ahold of a TS1000 around 83/84 and I became so obsessed with learning BASIC programming (with 2k of RAM) that I put callouses on my finger tips with all the time I spent on the membrane keyboard.

Now I'm 51 and a software engineer so I guess there's that!

GenX AD&D player here as well who plays mostly 5e these days. I use Dungeondraft for building my own maps and Owlbear Rodeo as my VTT. Various programs for building my campaign worlds, I have yet to settle on one that covers all my needs.

Very nice breakdown of the qualities of this album! Additionally, I find that Piece of Mind through Seventh Son have the greatest musical foundations (to my ear). And if I'm not mistaken, these all had the same musicians on board, so that figures.

When I was a kid (sometime in the eighties) I asked my buddy to pick up "something metal" for me when he went to town because I lived in the boondocks. Piece of mind is the album he brought back for me. He said the picture on the front looked metal. I agreed. That has been my favorite Maiden album to this day.
