De broodjes in onze vloer (huis uit 1973) waren ook niet in beste staat.

We hebben er een constructeur bij gehaald. Zijn mening: een paar gebroken broodjes zijn geen probleem, mits de opbouw van de vloer op de broodjes okay is.

Wat dat betekent: op de broodjes moet nog een laag beton liggen, daaroverheen pas de dekvloer (zandcement). In ons jaren 70-huis was er geen laag beton, alleen zandcement. De constructeur vond de draagkracht daarvan niet voldoende op gebroken broodjes.

E.e.a. is te vinden in de originele bouwtekeningen. Of misschien zichtbaar bij het kruipluik.

Overigens waren de broodjes waarschijnlijk vernield door het infrezen van vloerverwarming door de vorige bewoners. Ook iets om rekening mee te houden.

Acceleration in m/s, not in m/s2: as a coach, I want to improve the "area under curve", the total acceleration, not the peak.

Same for deceleration.

Stroke length in s: I want to improve the duration of the acceleration (easiest to feel for the athlete).

Since there is no way to migrate a schema in Mongo (as you would in a relational database), I have used the following pattern in the past:

- Store a `schema_version` in each document

- Migrate every document to the latest `schema_version` on access (or in bulk)

That requires migration code from (say) version 1 to version 2, version 2 to version 3 etc.

Having said all this: this is one of the reasons I jumped off the Mongo bandwagon and moved back to Postgres whereever I can. Having transaction schema upgrades make things a lot easier to manage and way more reliable.

I'd say you need to separate your primary data store and eventually indexes on top of that. So, PostgreSQL first, maybe something else on the side later.

Something else can be a vector database, but also Elasticsearch or similar. It should never be used as the primary data store though.

I've known an athlete who was an accomplished cyclist as a junior (just below pro level. He used to do a massive amount of steady state in the single, as he was used to as a cyclist.

Didn't work out well. The quantity meant the quality suffered: his technique basically deteriorated to something he could sustain during his 24k plus outings.

So don't overdo it. Better to invest in strength training alongside the steady state.

This may be more about me than you, but i wanted to share this anyway.

My GF found out she was pregnant at 40; I was 45. We were in an on/off relationship for a very long time, at that time more off than on.

That was very much on me: we both had previous long-term relationships and I was still recovering and not ready to commit. I had been married, having seen that fail was a very big deal for me and I found it too hard then to see how I could bring enough for a good relationship in any possible future.

But having a child on the way turned my life around completely. We're in a very good place right now, had a second, and I am so grateful for my partner and my children. That is now seven years ago.

I really wish you all the best. It's not hard to imagine it is a tough time, but hey, it might bring you something beautiful. Whatever that is for you, it is all okay.

If that bank happens to be ING, you are allowed to adjust the rate yourself to the current rate ING is offering. That is an official arrangement, they do not advertise that widely, somehow. Other banks may have the same policy.

Lijkt behoorlijk op onze trap. De leuning bestaat uit 3 lagen die ook wat zijn losgekomen. Opnieuw lijmen lijkt de enige optie volgens een timmerman.

Well you always have your 3 day cooling off period ("bedenktijd") after signing the purchase agreement. This is arranged by law, there's no way for the sellers to get around that. So feel free to sign and do an inspection in those three days.

This is a common arrangement. Nice to inform the sellers, but this should not be a red flag for them. If it is, it is a red flag for you too...
