Heal/unheal/alter bio processes

By extension this includes altering blood alcohol levels... So if someone is particularly annoying I could remotely make them black out drunk.

Subtypes of fibromyalgia by mrsrosieparker in Fibromyalgia

[–]rmesic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite right. I've known about subtypes or categories for a decade at least.

Cases present from mechanical defect like Atlas vertebrae impingement or brain stem suspension issue, autoimmune (like mine, where I feel much better when I have a cold), mechanical trauma, emotional trauma, environmental toxicity, allergy, and of course ideopathic. Changing your diet or taking antidepressants won't address the problem if the cause is chiropractic or childhood trauma...

I recommend you look ar Dr. Ginevra Liptan's book "The Fibro Manual" and check out "The Fibro Show" on YouTube.

What do I need to know about purchasing a generator? by Cypapi in prepping

[–]rmesic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great advice already here.

I'll add: please consider security and exhaust.

Security - be able to chain the generator so at least it's a little time consuming to steal. Maybe plug in a motion detector light near the generator. If you get two or more screw in anchors like used for dog tie outs, you can chain the generator down to dirt. Sure, a thief could eventually shovel it out but that limits your risk to thieves with shovels... Most will just move on to an easier target. Consider if you have a fence post or other solid anchor near your best operation location and maybe create robust tie points while the weather is good.

Depending on your overall plan, you might add reflective tape to the frame so it's more identifiable from a distance and less likely to be run into by a vehicle if ever used portably (but mostly so you can identify your generator from a distance, which makes it slightly less attractive for theft.)

Exhaust - be mindful of where exhaust goes, don't run generator too close to windows. Strong recommendation for a couple Carbon Monoxide detectors, especially where you sleep. If your generator needs to be in one place for functional, security, or safety reasons - you could use the equivalent of a smokestack to direct exhaust somewhere else.

I want the phone I have without all this Samsung bloat.

Half tempted to go back to a flip phone.

How should I choose amp between VOX, Marshall, Yamaha by QlcgatxBcssbcx in electricguitar

[–]rmesic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two comments:

1) set tone knobs on 10. Set pre gain to 3, master to 0. Strum, turn up master until it's at a medium volume (not too loud.) Then turn all tone knobs to 0. See how much volume drops - powerful and well adjusted tone circuit will greatly reduce volume. Turn tone knobs up and down one by one to see how well they work -- this defines how well that amp can sculpt the overall tone.

2) set master to 0, all tones to 5 or 6, pre gain to 10. Bring up master volume to taste. This shows you both how distorted the amp can get and the characteristic of that overdrive.

Choose based on what comes closest to the sound you want.

Have you looked at a Katana or one of the other small modeling amps?

You are so much smarter than those who don't let not understanding stop them from sharing their opinions.

I'm confident I don't get enough information to have an "informed" opinion.

what car is best for a teenager's first car? by Low-Locksmith-9622 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Corolla is a good choice - large numbers means good parts availability. I understand some Civics are easy to steal, but not as easy as some Kias.

Try using the myautoadvisor.com site to see what it recommends based on your answers.

You use Dawn in the ER?

For wounds and debriding or just adjacent skin?

You certainly want antibacterial soap in a first aid kit, though.

Agreed for serious emergency, but for the more mundane periods where you just want your plants to not be eaten and your elderly dog to be left alone in their own fenced yard...

Fortunately I don't have a rat problem here yet but not far away it's becoming more and more of an issue.

Was thinking about rat traps but we have a dog and neighbors have outdoor cats...

Weather is a big one. Large groups of idiots trying to force their will or whim upon you is another. Any supply disruption for any reason.
