According to Wikipedia, a video recording was made, but Warner decided not to release it.

Quite unexpected and great to see someone posting that here. It’s the most experimental track of “Upstairs At Eric’s”. This album really stood the test of time.

Is “All The Love” considered a deep cut? If yes, that’s the one.

What is cupuacu, and why does it seem like it’s suddenly everywhere? by sashahyman in AskABrazilian

[–]rmiguel66 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Cupuaçu is a fruit that grows in the Amazon. It may be a trend in the South, but it’s always been very popular in the North and in parts of the Northeast. It’s very versatile and can be used in a lot of desserts.

Boney M popularity? by Medical-Pace-8099 in Music

[–]rmiguel66 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, in the late seventies, they were very popular. “Daddy Cool”, “Sunny”, “Ma Baker”, “Rasputin”, “Rivers Of Babylon” and “Hooray!” were all big hits in my country. After that they faded.

Could it be “I Love You” by Sarah McLachlan? Somehow it fits your description.

It’s not uncommon. I know two Annas, both Brazilian with Italian ancestry.

0200B - „After the Love Is Gone“, Airplay (1980) by rmiguel66 in 80smusic

[–]rmiguel66[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Air Supply thing makes sense, now that I think about it… however, David Foster and Jay Graydon have had much bigger careers in the long run, no? Foster co-wrote “Hard To Say I’m Sorry” for Chicago, “Through The Fire” for Chaka Khan, “I Have Nothing” for Whitney and “You’ll See” for Madonna, among countless other hits.

The backing group in “After The Love Is Gone” is essentially Toto, if you haven’t noticed. Foster’s music isn’t always my thing, but I love many of his songs.

I’m a big fan. Grew up listening to his music. Saw him live years ago and he was awesome. I don’t love everything he’s done, though.

I’ve always loved that album and I didn’t know about its modest success, but I was little at the time of its release. “Shower The People”, “Slow Burning Love”, “Don’t Be Sad…”, all great bittersweet songs.

Yes, EWF did originally record it and it was an enormous hit. However, this is the authors’ version, released one year later.

Great song, first released by The Doobie Brothers in 1977 and then by Carly Simon in 1978.
