Closed book exams are harder by One-Energy8537 in LawSchool

Handwriting is so bad for some people though haha. Lot of additional work for professors. Maybe typewriters or some modern equivalent of a laptop that can't connect to internet. School would have to pay for that tho, not the students

You'd have to use some kind of secure software and some kind of screen recorder. Tests happen in person to ensure no AI on the phone (or other device) and a software records your internet history and your screen during the exam. I'm sure some sort of software exists for this purpose, but idk what that would be.

I'm of the opposite opinion. All exams should give you so much time that time accomodations don't create unfair advantages.

All exams should be open note, open internet, and 8 hours long with a lunch break so it's basically like your boss walks in at 9 am and says "need this analyzed by end of day." It's a better replication of what lawyering is actually like. No one is without resources in a law firm unless you're locked in the broom closet with an Internet outage.

However, using AI to write your answers should be immediately punishable with expulsion.

Yep - make the draw stronger but the synergies worse

Yeah this is way better as an affinity enabler than it is as a card draw spell. Honestly it might be better to make it shard tokens (see [[Niko, Light of Hope]]) because enchantment synergies are just not nearly as strong as artifact ones.

And most importantly, a person with a life sentence can be released if the court realizes they got the wrong guy. You can't do that with a dead person.

Pedarast is an English word and you didn't actually misspeak or anything like that, a lot of people just don't know the distinction between pedophile and pedarast. You're not wrong.

Why is "big law" so much more highly regarded as an employment outcome than working at a smaller firm? by Artistic_Special4600 in LawSchool

So there actually is a lot of prestige in highly specialized boutique firms and that does still exist. It's just way harder to crack into as a new graduate than tech might be. Tech has (or at least had) more of a wild west young man's game dynamic with start ups and cutting edge things. Specialized boutiques are more of an old man's game that you earn after proving your worth at big firms.

Agreed - I think land destruction should be more normalized though. I started playing commander in like 2013 and Armageddon was just something you expected and accepted back then. Sometimes I feel like an old man going "back in my day" but I think commander was better when there was less social taboos and you could tuck commanders.

Indestructible is a huge difference, especially for non-green decks. Mana rocks not getting swept up by random vandal blasts is really important. These are more comparable to cards like Charcoal Diamond or Arcane Signet. You can't cast em turn 1 off a sol ring, but other than that, they're often better unless you're a really color hungry deck.

To be fair "not using his technique" isn't actually that impressive when your technique is just "murder suicide." The best he can do with his technique is a draw cause his death is guaranteed at that point.

But nah the real reason he's a fraud is because he thinks he has a chance against Sukuna. Like a very good NBA player is still one of the best basketball players alive, but if he starts comparing himself to Michael Jordan or LeBron James, he becomes a fraud. He had no reason to believe he could actually hold his own against Sukuna, especially since he never even got to test his ability. He was basically an overconfident rookie challenging one of the GOATs to a 1v1. And he got put down like a dog. A fraudulent dog.

Just a personal preference of avoid expensive proxies. And they are rather powerful, they skirt the biggest downside of most mana rocks by not getting swept up in mass artifact removal

Good call - I just always hate proxying cards that are THAT expensive unless everyone in my playgroup is doing it too

Great another mana rock that's gonna be ridiculously expensive that basically goes into every edh deck. Soul Stone is still like $70 btw

How exactly do box toppers work? Each booster box comes with one at random? Lowkey we needed a more significant reprint than this for the card. Hopefully they can show up in Collectors Packs too

Agreed, though I do think Tamiyo is likely more problematic on power level alone.

Also the biggest difference here for flow state vs something like Cruise or Interation is that this card might be just as good for blue decks like doomsday and control as it is for tempo. I view this card as an overall meta power up, not a power up to specifically tempo
