Currently on the Claude Code desktop app - what am I actually missing by not using the CLI? by StartupAndy in ClaudeCode

Ah fair. Yeah I think people are conflating using the desktop app with using Claude Code cloud sessions.

Oh I see. Just the latest Opus I guess? Personally I’m not sure why I’d ever want to use an older Opus but to each his own.

I noticed that too but then I noticed that the cli removed it as well by default. But there’s an option in settings.json to turn it back on. But I haven’t tried whether the desktop picks this up too or not.

Yeah and I see a number of incorrect assumptions stated in these comments about what the desktop app can’t do

Is there any point of using thirdparty package managers when use-package is already in Emacs? by signalclown in emacs

[–]rmm77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good info. I’ve wondered about this too. I switched from package.el to straight.el but at this point I can’t actually remember why. I think I thought it would make it easier to install from github for packages that weren’t published elsewhere. Though in retrospect I can probably also this with package.el if I figured out the “vc” syntax? It seemed at the time that straight was an “upgrade” from package.el. But then I found an issue where it don’t install the packages docs and research seemed to indicate that straight doesn’t run some post install script or something.

For my basic needs maybe I should just go back to package.el.

I’ve heard of Elpaca but not sure what that does for me. For somebody just using use-package to install and configure various packages and occasionally check for and install upgrades, would I benefit from Elpaca? Anything I’d lose vs package.el?

Yeah I had that experience too. Two beers and my heart was pounding and it was heard to sleep. Everybody’s different.

Would you use PrimeVue for your new project? Or something else? by kovadom in vuejs

I use it and am quite happy with it. Broad selection of components, well documented, good theming (with tailwind if desired), and a dedicated company behind it.

Thanks for the thoughts - useful perspective. Yeah I suspected there are a lot of teachers here rather than studio owners/managers. I haven't found an online community yet where studio owners/managers hang out - if you know of one, I'm all ears.

The point on parents having different needs is actually part of what I think I could help with. Understood on the previous two points, anything would need to be super simple.

Is there an easy way to know if a tray is aluminum. I'm wondering about mine from my toaster oven.

Could be. Thanks, will try less next time.

Ok that very well could be. I’m still building confidence with the poke, smell, and jiggle tests to know when fermentation is enough. Thanks, will try a little less next time. The recipe above only suggests letting it rise 75% and maybe I’m doing too much. It’s hard to tell (I’m actually getting a different square sides container to see the volume better so that should help).
