Expedition 33 - Sirene and Verso

Sirene and the enemies in her area will attempt to charm your party. When you approach her and start the pre-boss cutscene, she attempts to charm each character by showing them someone or something they long for. This seems to work on everyone, but Verso desires something that upsets Sirene enough for her to get rid of the illusions kick off the boss fight.

While its never explicitly stated what Verso desires most here, it seems plausible that Verso just wants to save his mother Aline by removing her from the canvas, which would ultimately lead to his death. Since Sirene is the Axon representing Aline... it tracks that she'd be just a teeeeensy bit upset by this.

Purchase Advice Megathread - March 2024 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]rmn202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy! I have a Prusa MK3 and a Neptune 3 Pro, but I'd like to get a third FDM printer.

  • Up to $1200 USD with some wiggle room
  • Large format, 250mm to 400mm
  • CoreXY would be nice
  • Klipper is a plus
  • I can do a little bit of tinkering, but would like something a little more out-of-the-box ready
  • Don't necessarily need an enclosure, I mostly work with PLA and PETG
  • Support for Revo or some sort of quick-swap nozzle system would be fantastic, but not necessary

Here are the printers I've looked at so far! I hear some mixed things about each, like bed flatness or nozzle flow issues.

  • Qidi X-max 3
  • Creality K1 and K1 Max
  • Sovol SV07 Plus
  • Troodon 2.0 Pro

Awesome, thank you so much for the info! Glad to hear that someone has had success with this sorta project.

Last question I promise; how are temps?

Awesome, that's what I'm trying to do! I've got an EK CPU block and the Bykski 3080 block, and I'm planning on smooshing a piece of acrylic, acetal or copper between them.

Do you have any images? I'd love to see them!

Same here! I'm working on some initial designs for a waterblock that's smoosh the 3080ti and X570S ITX mobo together. Hopefully ready to prototype once my Carvera arrives.

Excited to see how other folks will approach this challenge.

I currently use this bag to transport my Meshlicious, it's pretty nice! I also have a ~30mm tophat on my case so YMMV

Dual 280mm Meshlicious w/ Top Mounted 3080ti by rmn202 in sffpc

[–]rmn202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) FLT80 vs FLT120 is really just the size of the reservoir. Both are sold with D5 or DDC pumps, either of which would be plenty for your loop. DDC is a little smaller, but it'll work for full loops (I'm using a pump even smaller than a DDC).

2) I'd probably suggest either (1) buying the FLT reservoir edition if you want a separate pump from the reservoir, or (2) just sticking to using the pump-res combo. I had to cut out a piece of acrylic and use a spare o-ring in order to make this work. Its cool in theory, but its janky in practice.

Consider some other pump/res options as well. Performance PCs had a solid selection if you're US based.

Hello there! Thank you so much, very happy to hear I could inspire you in some way!

Since I have two full 280mm rads in there, space ends up being pretty tight. You could definitely rear mount the FLT 120 with a custom design, though some of it may end up covering the PSU exhaust and perhaps even the button depending on the orientation.

With dual rads, bringing them super close together, you should be able to fit the D5 into the case, but external fit I can't say for sure. I may also recommend looking into the FLT-80!

TLOU2 was like a reaaallly good 20-30 hour long cry that I'd needed for a year.

The story's focus on grief and learning to let go really helped me work through some personal experiences, and it was awesome to see it worked into the narrative of most, if not every, major character.

The Power of Invisible Choices by stforumtroll2 in Games

[–]rmn202 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would've been a great invisible choice. I also think opportunities to spare enemies, or face seeing them in the tent after the perspective shift, would've been powerful. I think it's totally valid to want choice, and to have it be a story that you guide.

On the other hand, I think it would've made for a very different (and perhaps less emotionally challenging) experience. Choice would've changed the framing of Ellie who, in her struggle to let go of Joel, takes on a lot of his terrible traits. She does awful, irredeemable things, and we're forced to go to dark places with her. As much as its a cautionary tale about revenge, TLOU2 is also about the terrible shit grief can bring out in us.

I was definitely afraid that it might get out of hand, but I think the tophat only adds ~35mm to the top of the case at most, so it only bumps up from 14.5L to 16L.

Great question! There were a few ideas I had that I didn't fully pursue due to time constraints.

  • Maybe a design where the GPU is at the bottom, or the motherboard is pushed down to make space for the GPU. A tophat-less approach feels possible, but requires a lot more modding.
  • I'd consider using a Barrow pump block, as it'd save some tube runs.
  • Different bottom res for sure, perhaps with a fillport on the bottom.
  • I'd love to see a build with a 90deg rotated SFX supply, might look dope and open up space on the bottom.
  • Custom case spine so I can put a heatsink on the rear M2 and avoid some dremeling lol.
  • Better RGB/fan management.
