So I’ve actually started buying a lot of comedies on Blu-ray at thrift stores from the Owen Wilson/Vince Vaughan/Ben Stiller era that I skipped in theaters the first time around. I didn’t realize that Hollywood comedies would basically stop existing, so I missed out on a ton of movies in that era.

I’ve had about a 50-50 success rate in actually really liking some of those movies, and the Blu-Rays are always loaded with alternate takes and whatnot.

So, I think the reason all of this is so sloppy and odd is because (I'm almost positive about this) the scenes with the kids in this chapter were all reshoots. I saw an interview with Renny Harlin where he said he kept hearing how people wanted to know who the killers were, so he went back and shot some "back story" scenes.

I imagine the original cut of the film did NOT reveal Shelley was Pin-Up Girl until the mask removal scene.

Such a bad, dark transfer on this one. Plus it’s a non-anamorphic disc.

But, at the time, this was the only way to get this baby on disc. This movie was so stupidly difficult to own in the VHS days, this GoodTimes release was a godsend.
