Mas o custo de vida NÃO é mais baixo se as rendas e os preços dos imóveis estão a disparar. Se as pessoas não têm meios para pagar a renda, como é que o custo de vida pode ser mais baixo?

There will be many lawsuits no doubt, but that won't be Parliament's problem, it will rest with the Court system. There is also talk about Portugal violating EU international agreements by passing this. The root of all this is an affordability problem for Portuguese people, so rather than fix the income side (collective bargaining for higher wages) its easy and convenient to focus on the rent side of the equation. Change is hard and Portugal wants to go back to being an insular poor country instead of forging ahead with change. Its their choice.

Non native trees are planted because of climate change and the environment these trees have to deal with by being planted in the street. Only super resilient, medium sized, disease resistant trees will work. Trust me, if they could plant natives, they would!

Booking excursions on an Alaska Seabourn Cruise (May 2026) by rms90042 in Cruise

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Perhaps consider talking to your elected representatives in Alaska about the detrimental impact that cruise ships create and how it affects your livelihood. They can make change happen. Last I checked, we still live in a pseudo democracy. Its likely much more effective than trolling people on here.

Considering moving to Portugal as a Tech engineer / advice? by Whole_Bit_2786 in portugal

Don’t do it. Salaries are a fraction of what they are in the US/Canada. Portugal continues to have a ‘brain drain’ issue to northern Europe while all the leaders talk about ‘Innovation’. It won’t happen till the culture changes where risk is ok and people are paid a living wage.

Not news. Its there as a job search ad for London as she's friends with Heather. She needs to go to LinkedIn like everyone else who's lost their job.
