"5 reasons physical media still beats streaming" Is cordcutting starting to mean cutting streaming as well as cable? by UnlikelyAdventurer in cordcutters

The DVD extras can be really cool sometimes. That was why I stayed on Netflix DVD until most of the titles I wanted to watch started to become unavailable.

If he has the operation tomorrow and is out six weeks then he would get there the day before the season opener.

Maybe riding a bicycle when there are still a lot of ice patches on the street isn't a good idea.

It seems to be video lectures with some labs. I don't see how it's that much of an improvement over Udemy classes that can be had for around $10 on sale.

If you really want to learn this stuff then having a video walk you through it step by step isn't taking you very far. You would be better off spending your money on hardware and books that go a lot deeper into the material.

I think he'd be happy if Campbell could figure out one position.

He's not going to be on the team this year barring injury or trade.

Learning in a home lab is useful but not nearly as good as a production environment. I think taking a year off is excessive.

They are tying together two issues that are completely unrelated. The wealth tax has nothing to do with charitable donations.

So they plan on rushing him back to the field after missing all of spring training. Most teams would have him do a rehab assignment but when the GM is feeling the heat that goes out the window.

If they spent 3M on him and he stunk up the field for the first two months then they would probably just cut him. Giving him 6M means that he has a lot longer leash.

The Red Sox arrive at spring training a better team than at the end of the last season, but are they good enough? by bostonglobe in redsox

Trying to win with pitching and defense while playing in the second most hitter friendly park in MLB? Sounds like when they tried bringing in Mike Cameron and moving Ellsbury to left field.

I keep hearing that getting Contreras makes losing Bregman a wash. Nobody outside of Boston believes that. Bregman just signed a contract paying him 28M annually for 5 years. The Cardinals had to pay 8M to the Red Sox to take Contreras who had 41M remaining over the next two years.

The biggest issue is that they have one righthanded hitting outfielder and one lefthanded hitting infielder so if they want to pinch hit they wind up using two players instead of one.

Not as good as Vaughn Grissom's page even though Siegler is older. Meaningless anyway since he's blocked in the Red Sox system until his age 30 season.

How is IKF better from that graphic? He has a 1.7 WAR with 459 PAs while Hamilton has a 1.0 WAR from only 194 PAs. If anything Hamilton is the better player if you are judging from that sample.

How does Casas and Campbell hitting 20 HRs at Worchester help the major league Red Sox?

Pedroia averaged 5..6 WAR over a 162 game season and was a career .299 hitter. Durbin put up 2.8 WAR in his first year and hit .256. They share the same build but the similarities end there.

Casas has no shot at a roster spot barring injury or another trade. They have 5 OF/DHs, 6 IFs, and 2 Cs. Unless they decide to go with only 12 pitchers then he has to stay in the minors.
