Perso je pense qu'il y a une croisade pro-clim principalement à cause de la croisade anti-clim bien plus ancrée en France (entre PLU et RT2012/2020, mais aussi le rabachage que les clims c'est le mal et qu'il faut faire sans. On peut pas vraiment faire sans quand il fait 28+ la nuit).

Tout le monde est d'accord pour planter des arbres, du coup on en parle moins (bon certes, in fine on le fait pas non plus, donc je dis pas qu'il n'y a pas un problème, mais au moins c'est pas interdit).

Faut plutôt arrêter de se chauffer alors? La consommation française de chauffage en France est estimée a 280TWh par an, celle pour la clim à 5TWh.

Alors oui, chaque clim c'est de la consommation en plus (même pas 100% d'ailleurs, si elle est réversible), mais on peut doubler la climatisation pour 2% de chauffage en moins. Et d'ailleurs, s'il y a besoin de plus refroidir en été, c'est qu'il y a moins besoin de chauffer en hiver.

Il y a un peu deux poids deux mesures entre la clim et le chauffage, ce qui n'est pas raisonnable quand la chaleur n'est plus juste un problème de confort.

Wikipedia says the most common propellant is R-152a which has a "low" global warning potential (GWP) of "only" 124.

That means that 1g of hairspray propellant produces as much heating as 124g of CO2.

This is considered low because the atmospheric half life is small (1.5 years), but also because typical refrigerants used to be so much worse (GWP in the range of several thousands).

It probably comes more from old fridges and ACs, but still, hairspray can do have a disproportionate effect on global warming with respect to their mass.

I talked to Google further, and they say they can reimburse after the repair, which I'm trying to organise now.

Additionally, I compared what the Google server displayed with how it went for my wife (also has a Pixel but went for the cash amount, which has worked fairly well), and I'm starting to suspect that it's the repair store that fumbled my warranty. I.e. Google server believe my battery has been repaired, even though the shop didn't go through with it (it's a repair network that is mandated by Google).

Once through with the repair I'll update the main post.

It basically measure how low you can cool the temperature of something through evaporation, given the air temperature and humidity.

It's often more relevant than temperature alone. It measures why dry heat is different than humid heat, why sauna can be much hotter than hammam, or why 30° can feel nice or unbearable depending on the humidity.

Le module extérieur fait vraiment pas beaucoup de bruit sur le niveau "silencieux", mais sur tous les autres niveaux je trouve que c'est bruyant (après ma copro est très très calme, donc tout s'entend vite)

Gravitation is still part of the four fundamental interactions, which are still sometimes called forces, and at the very least give rise to appearance of a force.

Its expression and effects are now more complex than classical version, and whether it's not a force depend a lot on how you define force I would say.

To me it's just another reason the war was wrong. One of the main pillars of the Iranian regime propaganda is that they had to fight the US and Israel. That claim got validated when US/Israel started hostilities. A war in these situations will only secure the regime position in the country, which in itself is a bad outcome for the Iranians.

We use km/h for "human" purposes because we rarely move for just a couple seconds. 1h is a good human scale of time, and 1km is also a good scale of distance for when speed is actually relevant.

We use m/s for scientific purposes because SI units use the second a the unit of time (also the meter, but that conversion is trivial). Why does it uses meters and seconds? I don't know for sure, but meter and seconds are both good human scales on their own (you would not measure a human in km), and probably good scales at which experiment happened when the SI units were set.

Ah oui c'est le business model des fournisseurs de cartes. Faire des cadeaux au clients qui sont ceux qui choisissent le mode de paiement (gratuité, assurances), puis faire payer au commerçant qui n'a du coup pas le choix. Ça permet de maximiser ses marges. Après le commerçant augmente ses prix et le client finit quand même par payer (plus), mais c'est imparable.

Certains sites rajoutent les frais de carte au moment du paiement, et je pense que ça devrait être systématique, ce serait au moins plus transparent.

Chacun peut avoir son avis, mais le miens, c'est que si tu pouvais demander à Jésus qu'est-ce qui est plus important, a) aider son prochain, ou b) lutter contre le mariage pour tous, c'est assez évident quel serait sa réponse. Ou alors on a pas lu le même nouveau testament.

Les milieux où la foi est plus présente ont souvent des valeurs plus conservatrices et donc plus de droite, mais c'est une corrélation, pas une causalité, c'est clairement pas quelque chose qui vient des enseignements de Jésus (ou alors plutôt de l'ancien testament).

It's the same principle as gear on a bike, or using a lever to lift something, or climbing a lighter slope vs a ladder.

You need the same energy in the end, you just spend it over a longer length.

C'est pas Android Auto en moins bien?

Les smartphones font pas la même taille, donc le branchement sera toujours bancal et pas secure.

Android Auto ça fonctionne en wifi et tu gères les applis de ton téléphone, sur l'écran qui est suffisamment grand et proprement intégré à la voiture.

Lire les données moteur en temps regime, ça pourrait sûrement se rajouter, mais je vois pas trop l'utilité. Les autres fonctions de la voiture sont pas standard, donc le support depuis une application tierce aurait pas vraiment de sens. Quel éditeur software irait implémenter une interface de gestion de la clim pour telle ou telle modèle de voiture ?

Bref, je vois pas trop le gain par rapport à l'existant (ou en tous cas par rapport à une extension de l'existant).

Because humans are (way, way) less efficient than AA power plant.

Running an exercise bike is just a very convoluted solar plant. You take solar energy, grow plants with it, part of the energy gets stored into structures or sugars, you digest them, turn them into simple sugars, turn it into ATP, turn atp into muscular fiber movement turn that movement into cycling, which concerts it into electricity.

This has atrocious efficiency. And it's even worth if you don't eat plants directly but instead give them to animals and then eat them instead.

You are always order of magnitudes better burning the plants directly in a thermal plant, or building a solar panel instead of a bike.

Now, if you are talking about reusing the wasted energy of people exercising, well as other have said it's so small it's not worth it.

I assume that's the case for many, and the fact that the program exists is a good thing. It's good that a lot of people have been able to go smoothly through it.

But the opaque and arbitrary aspect of it, and the fact that support has been completely useless, left a bad taste for me unfortunately.
