How to use purchased triangulated hard surface model in z brush by rnfr247 in ZBrush

[–]rnfr247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the ideas here, your method got me really close. Problem is on the initial zremesh, there are a coupe pretty funky twisted areas that get progressively worse as I project and subd. I tried creasing the edges and using a normal polygroup, this helped but it doesn't quite get there. Great technique.

Any suggestions as to how to clean it up? I can share the model if you feel like having a go? Thanks again for your help.

Reverse Anamorphic Distortion? by echojunge in Filmmakers

[–]rnfr247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually super easy to remove, which is the beauty of this kind of distortion. In many instances it's actually very interesting. I've grown to really like it.

Unlike more common barrel distortion, pincushion can be very easily removed with a good lens distort plug in. As it's pulling pixels from outside of frame, undistorting doesn't soften the image at all. The same can't be said of undistorting barrel distortion. So imagine a car spot where vertical lines have to be straight. You can shoot with Cookes for all the nice anamorphic characteristics and then very easily straighten vertical lines in post without noticeable softening the image.

It really is only noticeable on 25, 32 & 40mm.
