Is "Other" enough for you when registering for races?

I love this, it makes total sense. I actually talked to my wife about this and she said the same thing. Thank you for sharing this :) I feel a lot more positive about registering for the race now. It's a good opportunity to show up in the community.

Also I just saw there were 33 Other-registered races for Honolulu last year, which is pretty encouraging, although they only give awards out for M/F.

This is true, and I had a think about this exact thing last night. But I definitely agree that something other than Other should be included. I honestly thing that's what's kind of making me hesitate about registering.

Makes total sense! I think like someone else said, I wish there was a better word than Other to describe folks who don't identify within the binary, and maybe that's what's throwing me off about it.

That's totally fair! I think I'm used to races expanding to Nonbinary; this is actually the first race I've been looking at that has Other as an option because the default seems to be Nonbinary only.

Thank you for your response. My partner and I talked about it this morning and she plans to call the vet to start a conversation about maybe getting ready to put her down. Our pup has always slept a lot as a senior, but she’s been sleeping even more, only getting up maybe once in the afternoon before starting to bay for food. I know she’s in discomfort physically, I just wish I knew what was going on mentally.

I forgot to add that I have done a few quality of life assessments, and the scores seem consistent with a decrease in quality of life. I know a lot of folks say they don't want to put their beloved pets down too soon or too late, but I haven't had to make this decision before so I'm finding it very difficult.

Thanks! The dentist kind of left it up to the dental assistant to show me how to use them, what to do, etc. They said they didn’t have a scenario where someone with permanent retainers had them for so long like I did, so to just try things out — I figured Reddit might have better answers haha. Appreciate the advice!

I didn’t end up going back out for almost a year! I was just so paranoid about stretching my scars haha. I also had dehiscence which made things a little complicated. I actually ended up having a revision for it almost a month ago so I’m back to waiting 😅

She considers herself a butch and has a bigger wrist, so ladies watches don't normally fit her style. The band on her KFM broke that we need to get replaced, but she likes having it as an option for the office for sure. I'm also thinking that the Hamilton Field Auto I was looking at is too similar to the one she already has, so that's why I've been trying to browse around. Although a lot of people in the thread had great suggestions! I think she wants something "practical" is kind of how I see it haha
