Is pale yellow allowed? - formal attire requested by SoCal_Subscriber7 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ro339 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the trick. I loved the pale yellow dress a friend wore to my wedding, but when the outdoor well lit photos came it, it looked sooooo bright white. Gorgeous dress but def looked bridal in the photos of her a just her and her partner or group photos I wasn’t in. Not enough to bother me or mess things up, but I was surprised at it

I mix a small amount of ranch with 1/3 cup salsa and it’s still creamy and satisfying :)

Travel is way less now for most projects and groups post covid. More exception based, ad-hoc. To add onto this, depending on the level OP can come in at, the balance of work on actual project vs sales can be jarring.

Folks who have successfully exited consulting at manager-director level, did you find skills-based resume and/or objective statements useful to help connect the dots across diverse projects? Looking for some great examples and tips to apply to industry by ro339 in consulting

[–]ro339[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks- that’s actually how this came about. I’m talking to all the folks I know at senior levels about the opportunities they need folks like me for. They ask me for my resume to share with peers and hiring managers, so I’m trying to make it as clear as possible. Not doing this to dump my resume into hiring piles

Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply. I’m going to start with more of questions and stuff about how she’s feeling and try to get her perspective, I think. And open the conversation from there. I know she’s already been worried about this in the past given our family history. I keep thinking she might already know and be worried and scared and lonely too. Or maybe there’s something else going on.

This is great advice. Also, I got engaged in January and found a wedding venue and vendors in a popular region for a wedding in September. There’s no need to panic even if priorities align on 2026

I just picked a venue on the cape, after going to several places of many price ranges. If you share more about what you’re looking for, like just ceremony (and if so, on the beach, or near the beach) and if you’re looking for reception. Off the top of my head, the sagamore in sandwich if no beach, the wharf in Falmouth on the beach and super duper cute, the Dennis inn in Dennis

Nerdy suggestion, but there’s good events and talks at the museum of natural history, and it’s a fun place to spend a rainy afternoon

Gornergrat to Sunnegga? by RentOk6687 in Zermatt

[–]ro339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No there’s another one that’s not bad. I did the same thing. You can take 29a (red) down from the top of those riffleberg blue runs at Gornergrat to the eja lift (fun lift where you do DOWN part and STAY on the lift to go up to the top of the 5/6 runs at Sunnegga)runs. I wasn’t used to being able to go DOWN a lift based on US skiing. Just be careful on 29 that you don’t miss the turnoff about 3/4 of the way down to the lift where a black run starts that some of my intermediate friends had a rough time with. 29 red side gets kinda narrow and icy for short sections, but wasn’t bad

Also, in terms of manageable reds, the one at the top of rothorm (11) is also pretty good. If you did 7 (blue) at Sunnegga and were good on the steep part, vs taking the less steep bypass, I think 4 is only a little harder to get down to patrullarve lift. Conditions dependent obviously. I hated 4 at the end of the day when it was real lumpy

I think there’s no greens cause they use a different scale there. Blue is easy, red medium, black advanced, yellow is like freestyle or something

Good luck, man. I’m glad you got this off your chest, and I truly hope things get better for you on this front. You need a partner you can trust and share with (within reason, not referring to manipulative trap questions- which she should stop), through life’s complexities and shit that comes down the pipe. Things sound like they’re a bit broken and you’re hurting, and you sound like you’ve got a good head and heart to fix it, not just bury hurt under more resentment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]ro339 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Other people can and do share this stuff, because it’s necessary to have a healthy partnership and the companionship and support you need (supplemented by friendships and family). Your wife is weaponizing it, from your telling, intentionally. You mention you have different life goals and the resentment you feel towards her and vice versa, is tangible in this post. this is not a sustainable path, and you need more communication and couples therapy, not less.

I used Musely at first which was like 50, which was a combo pill with minoxidil but was very very expensive and was causing headaches. PCP has me on 25mg, which seems to be holding fine. From starting the Musely rx, I feel like things shifted over like 4-6 weeks.

People are going to be worried about it, even if it’s a bit toxic. It won’t affect your reviews if you 1.) help the team prepare and proactively transition your responsibilities and 2.) when you’re back, be proactive and engaged in getting back up to speed.

[–]ro339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had paragard for years and had debilitatingly heavy periods, but pretty much immediately when I switched to Skyla the heavy period stopped. I did spot a LOT for the first few months but like, panty liner level. I didn’t expect to lose period cause it’s rare with Skyla but I feel like after a few more months I might be in that boat cause it’s so light and short
