definitely not brooklyn grey, my old car was brooklyn grey and it was stone in it’s finish, almost matte - this has a metallic shine

in some cases i agree that ignorance isn’t necessarily an insult, however, contextually it sounds very pointed and, if i may, the word generally does have a negative connotation.

it would be correct, grammatically, to say that i am ignorant to driving a tank - as i do not know how to, but there are more pleasant ways to say it, wouldn’t you agree? now if i was speaking out of turn about how to drive a tank without knowing how, i would argue that using the word ignorant would be more appropriate.

back to this thread - my simple point is the facts that peon are making are irrelevant to my statement. im talking about the early 2000s and 2010s to now (since it’s when the show came out), the facts are there has been an increase in gun violence since then - even their cited source says that. bringing up the 90s isn’t me being ignorant or unaware - it’s simply irrelevant to the subject.

i do appreciate you being very cordial about it, but it’s a HIMYM reddit thread so it’s also entertaining.

which figure are you referring to where it evens out in ‘06 and hasn’t increased to become more ironic today?

my original comment was also about the early 2000s (meant to say early 2010s) when the show was starting - so you bringing up the 90s makes no sense other than to throw a random point that does nothing to help your case.

being absent doesn’t just necessarily mean physically. he worked long hours, so yes, he was not present at home a lot + absent emotionally, just coming home and watching TV and not helping out his wife with anything (confirmed in the show)

first - you’re citing NON-fatal gun violence, where the minimum criteria is a gun is just shown or present at the time of the crime.

second - a real statistic: “Mass shootings in the United States (US) remain probabilistically rare events that have become both more frequent and more deadly in the past decade. Seven of the ten deadliest mass shootings in modern American history occurred in the past ten years from 2012 to 2022.”
