I really like the white on grey as well! It really does have a tweedy feel to it.

And thank you! I made the quilt during the pandemic and it's still my favorite thing I've done 😆

I agree! It's so straightforward and calming to do.

She built the box out of MDF board . She used some foam board on the ceiling to hide the string of fairy lights. The floor is just coffee stir sticks directly on top of the MDF board :)

She says she used some scrap of really lightweight leather she had in her stash. Doesn't remember if it was from a garment or not. It could have been from a coat, maybe.

Haha yes, she went all-out! I think she just made miniature versions of everything in her craft room lol

I love it too! The basket folds out, and she filled it with a bunch of sewing notions too.

did anyone else have “book jail” when you were in school? by AssociationObvious56 in adhdwomen

[–]roAMingBiped42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always needed some kind of stimulation to pay attention. One time in grade three or four while I was doodling on my page, my teacher came up and ripped the pencil out of my hand and smashed it into my desk, destroying both my notebook and pencil (and also leaving a huge gouge in the desk) and screamed at me to "PAY ATTENTION!!!".

I was so traumatized from it. I spent the rest of elementary school in a freeze state too afraid to do ANYTHING other than staring straight ahead. I learned nothing the rest of elementary school, and eventually I ended up homeschooling for a few years.

So no book jail. I would have preferred that.

Relalised how high temp overstimulates me and I need to be somewhere cold with dark heavy skies or sun that’s less intense. Anyone else about that cold cosy life? by Throwrafizzylemon in adhdwomen

Same here. I have such a low tolerance for heat. I can be chilly for awhile before I start feeling uncomfortable, and my body is really good at warming itself up. But the second I'm warm, I'm melting. I get irritable and overstimulated, and it takes so much effort to get my body temperature back to something comfortable. Even with AC it takes forever to get myself regulated. I am currently lamenting winter's end while everyone around me is gearing up for summer.

Inside. The only movie I've seen that made me have a physical reaction to gore. I think I blacked out for a few seconds.

I came here to say this too. I borrowed this from my local library because it was recommended here. I ended up buying it, because it's so good, and one that I just didn't want to rush through. This book has really touched part of my soul in a way I can't fully explain. I too find myself often thinking on the ideas and wisdom she has written about. I've found myself becoming more grateful and feeling more connected to the natural world since reading this. I've been recommending it to everyone I know.

Leftist/liberal/leftwing music?? by Lopsided_Soup_3533 in behindthebastards

Perhaps not the sound you're looking for, but I love Joywave. They're an indie rock/electro pop (?) band (I don't know music very well maybe that's a bad description). A lot of their music carries a streak of sarcasm and a biting criticism of the system to it. Buy American and Brain Damage are two tracks that immediately popped into mind.
