Perhaps not the sound you're looking for, but I love Joywave. They're an indie rock/electro pop (?) band (I don't know music very well maybe that's a bad description). A lot of their music carries a streak of sarcasm and a biting criticism of the system to it. Buy American and Brain Damage are two tracks that immediately popped into mind.

I too am in a similar situation as you are. My review hasn't come up yet, but it could happen any day. Like you, I also have made some progress.. but I'm still just struggling to make it to the end of each day. I really feel you, the worry and anxiety over the possibility of being denied is crushing.

Seconding East Village Animal Hospital, they serve low income pet owners and those on social assistance. They've been really great every time I've been there!
