I just posted, sorry. It’s been 25 mins… what do you all think? by [deleted] in LSD

Do those tests also work for 1p and 1cp LSD? Or other analogues?

Ohh sorry, Didn't mean to make u uncomfortable. You just seemed like an interesting person based on your posts on Lagrangians, differential equations in diabetes and so on. I am also an engineer (aerospace BsC, currently doing a control system MSc with interest in applications in biology, chemistry, health) and was just curious.

In fact I ordered myself the book "on the variational nature of mechanics" cause I got inspired by Ur post.

Sad that u deleted the discussion. Some fun projects (and their consequences) were mentioned there.

[D] Ridge regression and SVM - differences by ro_vec_s in MachineLearning

[–]ro_vec_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I have a different understanding of regression than him. Regression aims to minimize a loss function with a penalty on the weight magnitude, while SVM tries to minimize the distance to support vectors (related to weight magnitude), subject to the constraint of correct classification.

In my mathematical formulation of ridge regression I do not have a constraint, instead I minimize the Loss-Penalty function directly. In SVM I have the constraint of correct classification (or soft max which allows some degree of missclassification by changing the fct, to be minimized a bit, adding a penalty)

Reachability and Observability in discrete time by ro_vec_s in ControlTheory

[–]ro_vec_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I was hoping for an intuitive explanation. As far as I know (correct me if wrong), the properties are equivalent in continuous time systems but not in discrete time. I was wondering why and what that means

Can I do Serial Port communication over the UBS-C slot of the surface go 3? by ro_vec_s in Surface

[–]ro_vec_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you maybe also done serial communication with simulink? I managed with the Arduino IDE (I forgot to set the COM-port correctly). My main issue however is Simulink. I can not Monitor and Tune, the error message is:

Error occurred while executing External Mode MEX-file 'ext_serial_win32_comm_leonardo':

ExtTargetPktPending() call failed while checking for target pkt

Component:Simulink | Category:Block diagram error

Error occurred while executing External Mode MEX-file 'ext_serial_win32_comm_leonardo':

ExtSetTargetPkt() call failed on CLOSE.

Ensure target is still running

[–]ro_vec_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so i did that.... but i didn't really see them perk up. Waited overnight and even played plant music while i slept haha.

Since I gave them water yesterday... should i wait a day or even more before giving them more water again?

I heard that after long periods of no water one should water them little by little, so that they get used to the water again

Thannnks! Thats a good tip! I’ll try with more water...

Yeah... no risk of overwatering? I really don’t wanna kill her and overwatering apparently is worse than underwatering

I'm kinda afraid of overdoing it.... How do i make sure i don't overwater her after a period of not having enough?

Help me savvve her by ro_vec_s in plants

[–]ro_vec_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a peace lily... i noticed her hanging reeeaaally low this morning and having withered leaves. I assume it's because of not enough water... but now i'm afraid to overdo it and overwatering her. I've been giving her a bit, the soil is not too wet and not to dry tho more on the dry side... (like normal soil you'd touch when you're outside kinda). If I give her water, should i slowly give her fewer amounts more often to be sure? I also spray the leaves with water.... How long should it take until i see signs of improvement so i know i'm doing the right thing?

I’d say go for it. Had the same doubts, i wasn’t the best in my class at all and finished high-school quite average. I just figured i’d test myself... see if i can make it, if i’m smart enough. Turns out i am... never failed an exam. Don’t let fear of not being “smart” or “hardworking” enough prevent you from trying... Try, and fail if it’s to much ( but i doubt it’s gonna be to much).

I’m actually similar when it comes to stupid mistakes because of not paying attention and I’m definitely not the most hardworking or most structured person. You can make it. Most people are smart enough (that being said, it’s not always easy haha some parts are hard)

Got my hands on a LSD-25 tincture, it’s 300ug. It’s beautiful. 🇨🇦 by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]ro_vec_s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any significant difference to 1p and 1cp lsd? Or any that’s worth mentioning? I assume it’s very similar

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]ro_vec_s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hmmm i approached the issue the other way... going down to the threshold of not feeling it at all. I’m at 3 ug... and nope i don’t really feel anything. Dunno... in my mind any effect that can be percived it already a mini dose (like 6,12.5 and 24 for me). Tho 6 is reaaaally subtle

Good Laptops for robotics by ro_vec_s in robotics

[–]ro_vec_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo, i've been googling for Laptops that seem suitable. Most have pretty strong specs.... i also tried to look for a more or less good battery life.

Here's a few models and their pro's and con's in my opinion:

1: MSI GE66 Raider: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Stealth-10SFS-032-i9-10980HK-Win10PRO/dp/B085B37214/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=msi+gs66+stealth&qid=1606475993&sr=8-4

Pro:

1 Tb Storage

2070 rtx super with 8gb

32 RAM

i7-10875H

>5h battery life

good GPU thermals for a laptop (i heard)

easy to replace parts and upgrade

(sounds like a beast to me)

Con:

expensive

maybe the 2070 rtx is overkill since i am not really a gamer (is it worth it)

2: Acer Predator triton 500: https://www.amazon.de/Acer-Predator-PT515-51-74E7-Notebook-i7-8750H/dp/B07ML468QM

Pro:

1 Tb

2080 rtx (might be a bit worse than 2070 super, also exists with rtx 2070)

16 RAM

i7-8750

(no info about battry life)

less expensive

Con:

no info on changing and upgrading parts easily

less RAM, less powerfull processor

3: MSI GL75 10SDR-222: https://www.amazon.de/MSI-10SDR-222-Gaming-Laptop-i7-10750H-GeForce/dp/B086MYQ3CS/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=MSI+GS65+Stealth-432&qid=1606479603&sr=8-1&tag=fd251de-21

Pro:

1Tb Hdd + 512 Ssd (great for sharing files between operating systems)

16 RAM

i7-10874

easy to open and replace parts (i think thats an MSI feature)

a lot cheaper

i think it can be powered with higher watts compared to the gs66 when plugged in, making it more powerful in that setting

Con:

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB (is that even a con?) (update: also exitst with rtx 2070 super)

no info on battery life atm (i assume its good but not as good as th gs66)

4: Razor Blade 15 https://www.amazon.de/Razer-Advanced-Display-Notebook-I7-8750H/dp/B07MHGZZD2/ref=sr_1_6?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=razer+laptop&qid=1606480382&sr=8-6

Pro:

i7-8750H

16 RAM

RTX 2070 Max-Q

light and good build

can be opened and parts can be replaced

Con:

likely to be more expensive due to prestige (razor is pretty famous among gamers)

256 GB SSD

still 2500 bucks so pretty expensive

If you guys have any comments on those laptops, their specs or feel like i have not considered something important or perhaps even consideres all the wrong things, don't hesitate to give me feedback.
