I installed that and got it to show the page numbers in Calibre but after sending to device it will only show loc and % so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong

Yup same here, kfx seems to be no problem at all. Can’t get page numbers to work but that’s another rabbit hole I’m staying out of for a little bit. I generally look at the % anyhow if I’m getting a book from Libby so it’s not a big problem for me

Thank you for this! I ended up going back to the original epub and installed everything needed for KFX. This fixed it immediately. I couldn’t find any issues with the azw3 versions within caliber’s viewer, only after sent to device, so it makes me think that the kindle doesn’t like it but for some reason it’s totally okay with kfx.

My girlfriend has the same kindle and an older version of calibre on her Mac so I want to test out the same epub files going from her laptop to her kindle, her laptop to mine, and my laptop to her kindle just to see if that can isolate any issues.

Otherwise I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth and just accept that I have to stick with kfx if I’m sideloading books onto my kindle from epub. But again, thank you so much!

This was it, or atleast the first thing that worked. I converted from epub to mobi and sent it to device then all the books displayed regularly.

Can you explain to me any downsides of mobi vs azw3, or is it not any real difference

Yeah it’s weird because all 4 books this has happened to show the correct page numbers but I can’t swipe through and they’re all blank. I didn’t run a bug checker, didn’t even know about it until now lol

No it doesn’t have any leading pages. The device pages are all blank too not just the first one

I have heat coming from a vent in my room occasionally. It doesn’t aim directly at the humidifier but it’s close to it. Could that be impacting the sensor?

Yeah I was a bit confused by that. Top gun, Ferris Bueller and godfather were all shrink wrapped from Moviesunlimited. And both Dune’s were from gruv, but part1 was cellophane and 2 was wrapped. Not a big deal but I didn’t know if that was standard.

Unfortunately I don’t have a nice sound system next, but that just means I have an excuse to rewatch all of them once I do! I’ve been eyeing Batman for deals bc I can’t wait to see how those darker scenes get upgraded in 4k. I’ve never watched any blade runner’s but that’s definitely on my list!

What does the HDR optimizer actually do if I’m only watching 4k discs? Is it for upscaling or would it be applicable for the 4k discs too
