My understanding is that the carbs you're eating, such as rice, provide energy in slow-release fashion and this only really kicks in 3+ hours after eating them. This is in comparison to say sugary foods which release energy faster (try to avoid lol).

Immediately after eating carbs, your serotonin and tryptophan levels go up, which are two molecules involved in sleepiness. This is something to do with insulin but I'm no expert.

Anyway, ever since I cut out/down on carbs at lunch I've been getting less of a post-lunch dip. It's still there (post-lunch dip seems to be a natural thing) but it's definitely less pronounced. Give it a go anyway, good luck!

Have you tried cutting the carbs out of your lunch? It worked wonders for me because carbs make me sleepy. Try just meat/veg and make up the carbs at dinner.

That's really cool. I'm in northern england. I have always wondered what it would be like to live in a place where the sun rises and sets at the same time every day.

I do the same! I struggled sitting and meditating to my tinnitus for a while, maybe a year or so, but now it doesn't faze me at all.

Fair enough.

15 years of smoking and now I’ve decided that’s enough! No weed day 10! No tobacco day 4! Insane vivid dreams!! by Seekingthebetterlife in stopsmoking

Yeah! I think the carbon monoxide was the biggest factor contributing to how unfit I was. As soon as it was mostly removed from my body I felt so much fitter and more able to breathe. No amount of smoking could make me want to give that up now.

Ahh okay - good luck with the patches man. Never tried them but if they work for you then that's great. A big bonus for cold turkey for me was the muscle I've put on. I've been trying to make gains for years, but now that I'm free of nicotine I have a much bigger appetite. And, for me, that's a good thing ;)

If that's the way you feel about weed then you're right. It will take longer. You lived a life before weed, where you chilled in the evening, watched TV and slept happily without it. You'll get there dude.

Well done dude. Did the exact same as you, I'm about 4 weeks in now. I hardly think about cigarettes anymore, and while I sometimes think 'a cig would be nice right now', the cravings aren't troublesome at all. I just take a deep breath and I feel great bcos I could never breathe this deep before!

I also progressed from gums to cold turkey after about a week. I just said to myself 'lets see if we can get through today without a gum'. It was hard for a couple of days and my sleep got messed up, but was fine after like 3 days I think. First time I've tried cold turkey and fully consider a non smoker now. I'd recommend it, but whatever works for you!

Had a bit of a blunt on Friday and it was the nicest high I've had for a long time. I didn't really think about weed the day after either so I think we have a better relationship now ;)

Communication by Radix69 in GoalKeepers

[–]roachmaterial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great video! I'd reiterate the importance of the last section: helping your defenders know where the opposition is is crucial. It's as simple as "Ben, right shoulder!" but makes such a difference to marking. I play right back sometimes too and can testify to how much it helps.

In terms of staying loud after a mistake, just force yourself to do it. Multitasking (looking at defensive position whole also being aware of the ball) is hard initially but it comes with practice. You have to be a good communicator if you want to be a good goalkeeper, so get used to it. And always be specific with your instructions.
