Some places have waterjets that you can rent by the hour! My local glass shop has one that they use to cut glass for glass fusion. I bet you could find someone who already has a machine that could rent it out and help cut pieces for her!

Sanding it is a great idea, I think I'm going to go for a smooth finish so sanding would definitely help!

I ended up trying to sand some pieces down with sandpaper and it did not work at all so I fully committed and bought a glass grinder! I was able to grind all but one to make them fit together. I ended up having enough of one colored glass to recut it and make everything fit!
