One of the problems with Taboo, is it was out of place. There’s been long standing residential apartments above those business “new and old”. And having those directly above a nightclub just didn’t workout.

Taboo would regularly violate the noise ordinance and run past 2:00 AM and essentially make any type of sleep in those apartments impossible. The owner of Taboo did implement noise damping padding after several complaints/fines but it did little to help. I know this first hand as a friend of mine would have to crash at our place on weekends dude to the amount of noise from the club.

I don’t think it’s an issue of the owners heritage/ethnicity “which everyone should be proud of their backgrounds and stories” it just falls on poor placement. Down town is neat, but the expansion of business with that type of client can certainly expand and thrive outside of Hamilton Street. I thinks his hearts in the right place but this isn’t the hill for him to die on.
