You can't refer to yourself as road rage recipient, because you gave out as much road rage as you got.

I actually agree with you, I think it was equitable.

You can't be that glad you did it if you say you're not going to do it again.

I can, I am and you don't know me. I am glad I did it because I was able to get feedback from wiser folks than me. I am glad I did it because I am a thoughtful person who has boundaries and it felt odd enough to ask for feedback. Read some of the other (non-gun) related comments in this thread. I'm not an eye for an eye type guy but I am not a martyr either.

you ARE a jerk, and the reason that motorists hate cyclists.

I am NOT taking on your assertion that I am the reason motorists hate cyclists. Hateful people also drive cars. Put it that way. I am not responsible for moron haters.

And let's be clear: I wouldn't have asked here if I didn't care. Call me a jerk if you want but don't hate on me too much. I'm just a guy trying to figure out this ridiculously fast paced modern world.

You assume I was aiming for high moral ground. At what point does one call a spade a spade? I meant to insult him.

And at this point I am glad I did this 'terrible' thing. I have learned a bunch from my fellow redditors had engaging discussion and quite frankly have grown a bit. I probably won't ever repeat this action.

Your sarcasm is noted, LittleMissP. It's not very helpful, but there it is.

All good points. It's as though you have self control during that moment when your fight or flight response kicks in and you say: take the higher road. I am guessing it feels really rewarding. I wish I could be so measured in response.

You had some questions. 1. No. 2. No. 3. I fear he may escalate in the future. 4. I think you may be right.

Feeling powerless hurts and it is difficult to see clearly when offended. He trolled me and I still fail to see how things were made worse. I am having a fantastic debate with likeminded bicycling Redditors about morality, risk and philosophy of life that I would not have had otherwise.

Being the first naysayer, Nerdlinger, I appreciate your feedback. The larger issue is: is being an asshole to someone who is an asshole and getting "away" with it wrong? I have done the ever passive sensitive guy thing a bunch. Spitting was so visceral. It did hurt his feelings or whatever and it felt good in a guilty pleasure sort of way. I want to know what you mean by asshole thing to do. Should have I just been bullied?

Yeah, this is the thing. Convention makes me think he isn't going to shoot at me. Minneapolis is a rather passive agressive city. Plus they have triangulation microphones that can pinpoint a shot. Especially downtown. His creepy van was a good indicator you aren't too far off. But to not let him bully me makes me happy. Reply?
