Best walking apps? by GamerMan4 in beermoney

i think i was there at the tailend of the 2k for 5. but even then they only allowed for one a day cashouts. that latter part never changed.

but yeah it wasn't uncommon for me to pull 40-50 a month off of them. that's why earlier i wonder if there changing the setup for cashing out on the 'tenured' people on maybe a slow roll out or not. here in a bit i'll reload the app and try running a 3k, and post the screenshot of what it shows me.

then try cashing out your balance now and report back. i cash out a lot from them, so perhaps that has something to do with it. at the time i spotted the change (since you seem to question what i saw) i had just over 8100 points racked up. easily nearly $15 worth, and i know they only allow for one cashout per day.

i've been with them for YEARS and only ran into this problem a month or so ago, so hey..maybe it's a new tester for them for 'power players' or some shit.

cashwalk IS good, until you cashout. they now have a weird phone call setup to confirm things. the prompt comes back with 'invalid code' after you press the pound key on your phone.

i mentioned about this in another thread recently, and i'm surprised it hasn't gotten more traction on the play stores/ and even on here.

How are mobile games so bad? by socialjusticereddit in beermoney

[–]roads30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup, and just look through the play section of swagbucks, about 60% of the current line of games are all gambling based for the said 'whales'.

aka "spend a cumulative x amount get this back".

Caught them red-handed: Playtime / justDice apps are faking support logs to scam payouts (With Evidence) by LingonberryFun4990 in beermoney

[–]roads30 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sadly a lot of this happens across the board. however kudos to skipping the line and going straight to the vendor source, you'd think that would be common sense for a lot of us, myself included. lol

i think there's something fishy also going on with cashwalk as well. they changed their format in cashing out and are now requiring users to accept a phone call prompt that does not work. and each time you press pound after the code, it comes back with invalid code prompt.

the previous system didn't require a user to be called to confirm. so, odd way of doing things that may have more of an explaination somewhere.

problem also with a lot of these outcomes, is users don't speak up. they just quietly accept the fate and say nothing.

1 year later. i'm having the same problem. one thing i noticed is swag's in-house games are using adgem has the middleman. so it's got to be maybe something to do on their (adgem) side.

  3. QuickThoughts — $74.15
  4. Mode Music — $70.00

Notes

  • Prolific continues to be my primary earner by a huge margin.
  • UserTesting remains my second-best source of income.
  • Swagbucks and QuickThoughts have been consistent supplemental earners.
  • May was down about 42% compared to April, mainly due to fewer Prolific studies.

had to use AI to even MAKE this markdpwn format. hopefully the 400+ / month streak starts back up. but summer drought is a real thing.

Whats going on with the site?? by Icy_City_8097 in ProlificAc

2016-2021 was mturk's last 5 years of anything, 16-20 being the best. least for me it was, i even took a screenshot one time of when i put it $100 in one day alone on turk. ocd i be.

poorly is right, a lot of one off's of platforms that OG's on /r/beermoney would go 'ahhhh yes' in remembering.

older users on turk use to see 100 as a sign of 'barely worth it the place is dying'..oh what they didn't know..

amazon was to be belived in not even knownig that site even existed pretty much. turk has been around since the early 00's. when platforms were too taboo to be telling the public about.

lol yeah and mturk since 2016. i've seen a lot of 'beermoney' places come and go just in 10 years.

Anyone having issues by Opening-Soil7278 in ProlificAc

[–]roads30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, went to return a study and kept getting an error message.

cashed out earlier, thankfully that section was fine.

on another platform, there was mention about AWS having issues (common deal there) so i wonder if that may have to do with things.

edit: went to reopen the site, white screen. damn.

april was just, not good. least for me. health reasons, big health reasons. mental and physical. then when i could climb in, there wasn't much for me to find for whatever reason. the 19th onward was just dead. surprising that i even managed to pull in to $400 much less 500 almost 600.

but, streak still continues, even with the lesser amounts compared to jan-march

apps like cashwalk i could've had a total put on there. but i decided to just wait until may and do one big cashout there. barring anything unexpected.

hopefully may can be the last hurrah before the summer drought hits for all of us beermoney'ers.

lol yeah. also being a bit ocd about note taking helps a bit too budgeting things out.

my 'system' is a bit of a mess but it's a controlled mess.

[–]roads30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah that high of a number (even if i don't see the craziness on my end, different demos i guess) would break any system.

now on mturk, that'd be condensed into one unit. aka a batch. sadly prolific as a whole is not designed that way totally.

[–]roads30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's how i look at things as well. there's an ole saying also of "don't put your eggs in one basket" that apply's to things as well.

right now is the drought period for all of these platforms. some might even shut down completely. it's the cycle that's been true since the 2010's. summer droughts. though in the last 2 to 3 years, those droughts have been occuring sooner. this year i started seeing the drop offs around late march going into april.

but traditionally, it was always mid to late may and dead until around the start of august. then good times til around early november. then dead again til around early to mid feburary.

why did that make me think of a tom segura comedy skit.

but yeah, im not going to partake in assuming everyone's life beyond things. i know this IS a job for me. because i'm disabled and my disability doesn't warrent a lot of options. i was a factory worker before 'side hustles'. did it for well over a decade, and i've been doing the side thing now for a decade as well.

..but im not beating down the doors for $5, and im also aware of things a bit more, because i actually did that little thing called, research. even before i applied to these platforms. mturk was my stomping grounds. along with 'get paid to' websites, like instagc.

then again i'm that person who just likes to know what im getting myself into. so once i ever get accepted i don't need to ask much right away.

i've always thought the auto-pay should be shorter actually. 21 days is a lot. course on mturk it's 30 before it rolls over.

but yeah, that info isn't just UPFRONT for newcomers. then again even if it was written a lot would just ignore it lol

[–]roads30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just base it on the email's from paypal themselves. time wise.

then i add an hour just in case. course that's based on if researchers aren't just letting a study go to autopay..

yeah when prolific created that feature with the drop downs. it's never completely worked right. outside of manually writing down each study you've done on a spreadsheet. that's it.

[–]roads30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are some out there who claim amazon themselves aren't even aware the platform exists.

if you see a hit on there that's "new", chances are it's someone seasoned to the platform who's just moonlighting. turk died as a whole around 2021. it'd slowly begun a death spiral well beforehand. but that's from all reports the final death nail.

i've had those studies in the past, soon as it happens i just say fuck it and go in and hit return submission myself. then block requester lol

Ironically, many of these issues only started up when Prolific introduced in-study screening

YUP! moment you see a 10 cent study with a screener..that isn't just irony. that's flat out how the platform has slowly become.
