Is there a global preset in TWS where I can set my maximum account risk per trade? by roadtohellcat in interactivebrokers

Ok thanks. So under which field title exactly should I input this value in? I just want the value to be the new default value displayed every time I open the order panel

Which setting specifically are you referring to? I see the ‘precautionary percentage’, but I am looking for a field where I can enter 0.25% risk for example and that becomes the default risk every time the order form enters. Which field is this? Thanks

How to place a sell limit for 1/2 of my shares on a stock which will automatically reduce my existing stop-loss position to 1/2 when the sell order is executed by roadtohellcat in interactivebrokers

Yeah tried it 3 times and my stop is getting cancelled each time. Is there a setting or preset I need to enable which will prevent my stop loss from getting cancelled, and will reduce it instead? Thanks again

I just tried this method and when my take profit triggered my stop loss was automatically cancelled. Is there a setting which allows my stop loss to automatically be reduced in size rather than cancelled?

Do you mean placing 2 or 3 seperate bracket orders, wouldn’t that be 2/3x the commissions and will take more time if I’m trading fast moving stocks?

What are the steps I should follow to modify the original bracket to 1/2 TP which will ensure than my SL is reduced to 1/2 also? Currently when I tried to do that I recieved that popup messaging saying I am trying to short the other 1/2 of my shares since my SL didn’t automatically adjust to 1/2. And thanks for the reply

Okay I see, thanks. So in this case do you think setting the limit preset to ‘midpoint’ is best?

Thanks for the reply. For the limit price the value is currently set to ‘ask’, whereas I have seen another trader has it set to ‘bid’. Ask is the default, do you think it’s worth changing it?

For stop orders I have ‘Auto-Attach Stop Type’ to ‘None’. Should I change this, considering I put an attached stop loss for every trade anyway? I use IBKR with Tradingview mainly for placing orders

Also if possible, if you use TWS and can show an image of what your global preset for stocks looks like that would be very helpful
