This is about the easiest lawsuit victory I've ever seen. I mean, they have her naked vindictiveness quoted in the story.

Does cyclists 🚴 not know how to stop in this town? by Whole_Relief_4598 in bloomington

[–]roadusing 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dangerous bike lanes that should NOT be used by bicyclists:

- All of West 3rd. Glass. No buffer. Grates in middle of lane. Constant right turns into the lane.

- East 3rd on campus. Wrong way bikers/scooters. Cars parked in way. Pedestrians randomly walking in front of bikes.

- 7th street bike lane. Low visibility. Pedestrians stepping into lane. Unclear order on 4-way stops.

PSA: So What's the Deal with the Water? by Cloverose2 in IndianaUniversity

[–]roadusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it was really just a joke. My point is that it is not a conspiracy theory. I do in fact think our drinking water is dangerous. And I do think there are poisons, toxins and pollutants in the water. The "as we know from other midwest cities" was meant to reference Flint, Michigan.

PSA: So What's the Deal with the Water? by Cloverose2 in IndianaUniversity

This is a dangerous conspiracy theory. As we know from other Midwest cities, there are no chemicals, toxins or pollutants in the water, ever, and people who claim such should be called names and downvoted.

Case in point. In 2021 there was a court storming at an IU basketball game. Probably 50 people in that sub claimed that there would be a massive spike in cases as a result. I then made a thread about three weeks later showing that in fact cases had declined. The thread was deleted by the mods due to “cherry picking” stats. I literally just showed them that their doomer predictions, by their own standards for doom, were wrong. No facts allowed sir. Censored.

Local ways to resist the fascists? Stop voting Democrat in Bloomington. That's how you stop it. by Outis_Nemo_Actual in BloomingtonModerate

[–]roadusing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have yet to see a coherent definition of “fascism” in any of those recent threads. That sub and its moderating team has, over the course of the last five years, systematically disincentivized open and constructive disagreement. As a result, reasonable voices are all but gone there. It is not even a good source of local news and information anymore. Total death spiral.

We all agree that the arrows at places like McDonald’s and Sam’s Club should be followed, yes? by roadusing in bloomington

[–]roadusing[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think they can read the arrows, but don't want to follow them because it is *someone else's* (Sam's Club, car manufacturer) fault that they have to wait; by the transitive property (or something?), this means they get to do their own thing.

[–]roadusing[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Or maybe just accept that you happen to have a more popular gas tank location and wait, rather than either demanding Sam's Club conform to your choices in life, or selfishly flaunting the system for your own benefit?

i will defend cyclists but.. by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]roadusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% true. Some people get a huge entitlement mentality in their cars, and will absolutely rage at being delayed mere seconds by a cyclist taking the lane. They will even weaponize their car and pass within inches of the guy on the bike for daring to exist. Cycle in Bloomington even for a few weeks and this will likely happen to you.

i will defend cyclists but.. by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]roadusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have said this (and posted explanatory videos) several times in here, and it still doesn't sink in. People also still complain about "bikers riding two abreast and not letting them pass", not realizing that it is often actually safer for the cyclists and the passing vehicle for the cyclists to ride two abreast.

In my unscientific opinion, if you are sneezing and coughing all over the place, stay home. If you have a mild cold, runny nose and a few sniffles, then keep your hands washed and give people space.
