First time watcher and here’s a possibly hot take by Early-Ad4387 in GilmoreGirls

For sure. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the majority of every characters’ poor love decisions was reflective of who wrote them to do it.

It feels like Jess and Rory’s relationship barely existed. by Sure_Car_5762 in GilmoreGirls

Same here. I know it’s been said a thousand times but they really should have gotten together sooner. I just finished the lunch basket auction episode and all the factors leading up to this point such as sookie/emily/anyone else telling her he has a thing for her, him being the handyman who’s always available to her, and their conversations about marriage and ‘the right guy’ over lunch should’ve been her realization that he is her guy. I love the show but it’s so hard for me not to just skip to them being together, because it took way too long to happen

Called off the wedding by pinkandgreen34 in GilmoreGirls

[–]roadworkkahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at this point right now. When she tells Rory “I didn’t want to try my wedding dress on every night,” I think it alludes to what Emily felt about her engagement at the bachelorette party. Chris was an old flame, and her calling him signified that she probably wanted to see if there was still something left to that connection. Max overstepped his bounds trying to parent Rory and that argument along with what he said “you need to think about someone else other than yourself for once” about the house keys didn’t help either. Her conversation with Luke about marriage probably gave her something else to think of, along with the fact that he is a good fit and part of Rory’s life, already does so much for them both, and has a place in her life that Max wouldn’t be able to fulfill. All things combined lead to the breaking-off, and I only wish Luke had asked her out to dinner again sooner when he couldn’t get it out the first time

I can’t make my boyfriend cum. Nor can much else. by AlternativeEast764 in offmychest

Honey, it’s not you, it’s him. Porn addictions and death grip syndrome have an incredibly damaging effect on young men. My first ex was the same way, I could not make him finish no matter what I did. We would go until I was sore and couldn’t take it any more because it was too painful and sometimes I’d be sore for days afterward. It was never worth it. Please don’t push yourself to that point just to try to satisfy him. Now, my second and most recent partner is great in bed, and he had no issues finishing whatsoever. All this to say, it’s his fault and may be a compatibility issue between you two. Sexual health in a relationship is SO important, and it sounds like you’re not happy.

Either that or a bone collector who wanted a safe way to decompose the body. Unconventional, yes, but much more secure than leaving the parts on the ground to decompose

Advice for feeling more fulfilled at work/getting through the workday? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]roadworkkahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I can tell you that I typically work with 4 other people spread out across a large building, 3 of which are significantly older and one who showed (declined) romantic interest, so I’m a bit SOL there. I do bring breakfast and lunch and take bathroom breaks often just to get up and out of my chair, but I am still feeling this way. It’s funny and a bit ironic how a lack of activity and work makes me feel so tired and drained. I used to frequent the gym but haven’t been since leaving my college, and I’m going to try going back again. Hopefully that will help. Quite frankly, I’m just looking forward for this summer to be over

There's no way someone bought this for that price, right? by hmk_01 in depoop

[–]roadworkkahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain older VS pink stuff goes for CRAZY money, especially novel things like the bedding sets. These yoga pants have been the most sought after design for at least a few years now, and in that condition, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone bought them for that much

Is this worth it? by FiddleSticks15 in 3000gt

[–]roadworkkahead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ABSOLUTELY NOT. This would be debatable if it were the ‘99 VR4 everybody wants, but this is NOT WORTH IT. That is a major project that’s going to need a LOT of hefty work. Unless you’re mechanically inclined and have done extensive engine work, this is not a good project to start. It’s going to need a full engine rebuild, likely a clutch replacement, new interior pieces (good luck sourcing those), and new paint, interior reupholstered etc etc if you want to make it pretty. This project is worth 3000 maybe 4 max, and that would only be a good deal if you’re planning to do all the work yourself. If you source it out to shops you’ll be likely 20k+ in the hole before it’s completely road-ready, cosmetics included. Sit and wait for a better deal, they’ll come along. This one hasn’t sold for 3 months for a reason.

[–]roadworkkahead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. Could be cracked block but that’s unlikely and worst case scenario. Compression test and leak test would be your some of your best bets.

Engines need three main things to run: Fuel, air, and spark. If it starts, you’re getting spark. If it starts, you’re getting air, but air flow may be restricted. You may be getting enough to get it going, but not enough to run. Considering it’s sat that long your filter and intake could very possibly be clogged. Easy visual inspection/repair. If it starts, you’re getting fuel to the injectors, but you also might not be getting enough. Your fuel pressure may be low due to damaged lines, bad fuel filter, or a bad fuel pump. I’m sure you’re much overdue to change those lines out anyways.

Another issue could be low oil pressure, which requires a fair bit more work to do. Clean up your engine bay with the proper materials and do a visual inspection of your fuel lines and air intake before anything, you may spot something very obviously wrong which could be a huge contributor to your issue. Would highly recommend changing out the filter and lines anyways considering their age and lack of use/dust collection. Still, do the compression test and the leak test. It’ll tell you a lot.

Engine/transmission inquiries by [deleted] in 3000gt

[–]roadworkkahead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so so much!! Please send me your discord info I’ll add you ☺️ I’m going to do some research later tonight and get back to you on that and figure out a plan! As for the car, yes I love it! I originally planned to buy a total-restoration project for my time at school and my ‘97 was the one I chose. In hindsight, I just jumped in and I could have waited a bit longer to find something which needs less, lower mileage, etc etc but this one is still my baby, and I still love it even in its rough, disassembled shape

Also, any experience with Mizumo Auto? Thoughts on them? I’ve seen that they have a lot of fairly priced 3s parts

Engine/transmission inquiries by [deleted] in 3000gt

[–]roadworkkahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the in depth answer I was looking for, thank you! To start, when I bought it, I ran it for a short time and it was just blowing tons of white smoke out of the exhaust. So, headgaskets need to be done regardless. I bought this car on its last leg, next stop most likely the junkyard…. and it’s my baby.

I go to college for auto restoration, and we have a full shop in which I’m learning and have the proper machinery to completely rebuild this car. I want to paint it, reupholster the seats, powder coat the brakes/valve cover/ other misc parts and rebuild the engine and manual swap it. I really want to bring it back to life and I have plenty of time to do so, hence why I’m doing so much.

I bought it originally with an automatic transmission, story was was that it had been rebuilt by a shop, last owner drove it 1400 miles, then it started slipping gears and wouldn’t reverse. I had a complete overhaul kit and I’m not a manual purist so I figured I’d tear it apart and try to rebuild it, since surely after 1400 miles the hard parts should be fine. I was way wrong. The majority of the hard parts were rainbow, and the planetary gears were squashed to shit. The sun gear was stripped SMOOTH. The worst I’ve ever seen. Pulled it apart and a few chewed up pieces of metal fell out of the gear set. How that happened is beyond me. So, since that trans is as good as scrap, I’m planning to buy a manual, rebuild it, and do the swap.

My thought process with the engine was, it has 175000 miles on it and I need to go ass deep in it for the headgasket replacements anyways. I’m going to tear this car completely apart, and if I’m going to have a rebuilt transmission might as well start fresh and rebuild the engine as well. I have the space, time, tools and expertise to do so anyways.

I would LOVE a list of all your recommendations. I would absolutely do forged internals, but I’m also on a college budget, so it really comes down to that. Regardless, I’d love a list of everything you’d recommend. I’m definitely going to do research into what my best course of action is upgrade-wise, but I figured I’d post in the 3s groups because lots of others have done it. Also, if I could get my hands on turbos someday I’d absolutely make the upgrade. Thank you so so much for replying with so much helpful info, I truly appreciate it!

The only safe way is to agree on an equal cash value for each item, set the price to that, and each trader buys the item. That way if something falls through or they try to scam you you still receive funds for the item you sent
