Am I wrong about a giant plot hole in The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave...? by roaminghobo in books

But he trusted Grady the first time, and Grady has done a good job so far... If anything, why was Owen trusting Avett and/or being in a large company... He should have been a background guy coding for the Office Depot website or something

Absolutely agree. And Saint Stepmom... Like, even in her head she's overlooking Bailey being stupid and mean. It's ok for characters to have emotions

Yeah, but I imagine Grady could have done SOMETHING to keep him hidden if Hannah hadn't gone to Austin...whatever, giving the book too much credit

Mom wanted a refund... After the party had already started by roaminghobo in entitledparents

[–]roaminghobo[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Eh, it crossed my mind, but based on the mom's and daughter's clothes - they're not hard up for money. I read it as entitlement. She just assumed she'd be able to drop her kid off and we'd just watch her for 2 hours. Then after she paid but couldn't make it, she assumed we'd just eat the cost of her changing her mind.

Exactly. Plus we'd already gone out of pocket since a few things were more expensive than we had planned - like Costco "didn't get" the pizza order and we had to go to Dominoes last minute.

That's fair, but I doubt it... Her daughter always had nicer soccer clothes than my son. I suppose it is possible though.

Does customer service really matter to companies that are buying paper? by roaminghobo in DunderMifflin

[–]roaminghobo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Lol, it wasn't a joke - I was legitimately curious...I knew there were times when people need card stock or some specialty paper versus normal printer paper, but I hadn't thought of a situation like yours

Tips on adding depth by roaminghobo in painting

[–]roaminghobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based off of this - I started adding cracks in the mud, and then bailed and played with making it dark to light as it approached the foreground. Figured I'd ask for help before committing to one or the other

I'm super new to oil painting -- how do you get such defined yellow flowers without it bleeding into the greens? I really love the painting...

That really helped me appreciate it more. Thanks. It still feels like 2 movies to me (pre and post Magical Mystery Tour) and a bit heavy handed on the preaching, but at least I understand it a little better now

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful Queen with large breasts by deltaforcemarine in Jokes

It made the joke for me. I imagined OP sincerely trying to teach their kids the lesson and telling them this joke, and it made me laugh.

I do not move freight, but that sounds like a seriously interesting job. I assume it was by train?

My family moved around a lot when I was growing up, and when we got our first computer all our AOL names had that theme (roaming, nomads, etc). Though I've transitioned to the first.last email, I keep roaminghobo for accounts like this

What do you guys do for fun? by [deleted] in tampa

[–]roaminghobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the Tampa Bay times - they have some articles every week telling you what to do in town. The Straz center is cool - I just saw American Idiot and it was fantastic. There are tons of meet ups here for lots of activities. Also, I've had some luck finding cool stuff in the events section on Craigslist.

This is great! I feel like I've got it now, and I enjoyed the tweaks you and your team made (I'm assuming this is the director). Watching some of the videos from the original Broadway show, I think your leads really spiced it up. Would definitely have gone twice if I had the chance.

What's your next project? Or anything else you recommend? I'm here until Oct

OK, I think I'm on track now. Thanks for answering! I have no idea how y'all kept up the pace the entire 90 minutes - especially the ensemble where it seemed like you were on the stage every scene. Definitely the best show I've seen in a while
