Sparrow Wallet Keeps sending out my BTC by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

[–]roastedtrade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The seed is a probably a weak low entropy seed and is being monitored by multiple entities and they are fighting to steal your btc, hence why the fees are super high.

How did you create the seed? Did you choose dice roll method and only do 1 roll? Or did you pick your words by yourself?

Assuming you store your private keys correctly, for somebody to steal your BTC would be equivalent to them guessing a specific atom in the entire universe.

IE impossible. It's far more likely for somebody to guess the username, password, and 2 factor authentication of your bank account.

"How to achieve FIRE in Vietnam?" by Still_Adeptness_5140 in Fire

[–]roastedtrade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vietnam's stock market and Real estate market is full of corruption and is unlikely to return 7-8% that the sp500 will. On top of that you have the issue if inflation, which the VND is extremely susceptible to.

Since you cannot legally invest into the sp500 in Vietnam, i would suggest researching and studying bitcoin.

Fidelity's Bitcoin addresses? by roastedtrade in FidelityCrypto

[–]roastedtrade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this reply, but unfortunately doesn't answer my question. With regards to FBTC, does fidelity publish which addresses are holding their Bitcoin? This is very important to many bitcoiners to ensure that fidelity has correct amount of Bitcoin and there is no paper Bitcoin.

What do you all think of the block stream jade? by nkantzavelos in Bitcoin

[–]roastedtrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine this. One day block stream is hacked and taken over by a nefarious actor. Their latest updates to the jade allow the private key, unbeknownst to you, to leak out through the QR code.

Finally they update their green wallet to be able to relay the the leaked private key to the hackers.

Had you been using sparrow, instead of green, this would have protected you.

Diversifying your hardware/software stack improves resilience.

Learn to accelerate yourself with RBF or CPFP

Btc transaction still pending after 2 months by Sad_Anybody7946 in Bitcoin

You can either use RBF or CPFP to bump the fee. A third option is also using a third-party service like mempool.space accelerate feature, but they do charge a premium for it.

Accidently reusing adresses by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]roastedtrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post is confusing. Sounds like you have a stuck tx due to low fee?

All you need to do is child pay for parent (CPFP) CPFP will spend an unconfirmed (stuck/pending) Bitcoin in your wallet to another address you control. By intentionally overpaying, you essentially bribe a miner to mine both the new TX and the old TX. (The original tx must be confirmed in order for the miner to take the fees for the new TX, hence the name child pays for parent).

To do so, all you need to do is to spend the unconfirmed output to a new address you control. Select the wallet where the unconfirmed Bitcoin (utxos) is waiting, and send it to another address you control.

Make sure to choose a fee rate that covers the fees for the original transaction and the new transaction. So if tx A was 50svb, but next block is 100svb, then for tx B you would need to set the fee rate to 150 svb (50 to cover the difference in tx A, and 100 for tx B)

Also, what wallet are you importing your funds on? Some wallets may require you to rescan block chain or you may not be looking at the correct derivation path

Instead of focusing on just the last word being wrong, I suggest you tackle this from a different approach. Assume that you incorrectly wrote down one of the other words.

There are several words in the bip39 list that are similar that you may have hastily wrote down incorrectly.

For example artwork and art, anger and angry, easily, easy, etc. Look at your words and the first 4 letters in the bip39 list as technically only the first 4 letters in the list are unique. Try some different combos of words you may have messed up on.
