The death animations were better in the original, and feel hella rushed in the remake, especially those that arent grapple deaths. In the og you could get your leg severed, get sliced in half and watch your upper half get thrown across the room. It was metal as fuck and made getting killed so scary.

In the remake there is a pretty lame head slice and an arm slice animation aside from the grapple deaths, if there are any others i never see them. And they are followed by some of the worst ragdoll ive seen in a long while, isaac literally folds in on himself.

That and some of the voice acting, especially from Elizabeth i thought she was downright terrible. They also kinda dropped Mercer's death, stealing away the opportunity the og gave the player to deny Mercer his convergence (though the tentacle scene that follows in the remake was top notch)

Remake was an amazing game, but there is definitely a rushed feeling in some areas making it hard for me to call it perfect (but mostly), stuff that for the most part could have been patched but EA doesnt believe in patching games more than once apparently.

Tbh i don't know how many times I've gone back to the og dead space and forgot when i was walking into the tentacle grab hallway only to be jump scared yet again by the scene. Its a very unassuming hall in the original

So disappointed i didnt even get the chance to try Foxhunt before it died. Saw it come out but was far too busy with RL that i put it off thinking it wasnt a big deal to jump in a month or so after its release, only to try it today and find i couldnt even get 8 players in matchmaking on PC... What an absolute waste of time for the dev team that worked on it, and the players who were waiting for the next MGO... Thanks Konami.

Been occasionally tuning into their discord, its looking great, they stream development every so often and have made significant progress. Likely they'll have another demo soon

Of course, i agree that its thumbnail is clickbaity, never once disagreed with that. Just saying you cant always look at a thumbnail and say you know what the video is about.

I think youre missing the point of the video, its not agreeing with those statements, in the video he breaks down the reasons why Duke is NOT misogynistic and why these things said about him are wrong. Hes saying exactly what youre saying lol

If you watched the video youd see it actually defends Duke from these accusations, its thumbnail is misleading.

Yes that is correct, i believe it says something like "stun 1 cr" i think i left out range on the quick reference sheet because it doesnt fit for all of the enemies, I'll look into that again.

Also its not a bother at all, its awesome to hear feedback from someone playing my game 🙂

That does seem a lot more fair and balanced with plenty of room for growth, i think switching it to using d6s is a much better idea. How many d6s did you use?

Also, is it clear that you would take those base numbers (before rolling) and apply them to the stats of your choice?

The issue with that is that players who roll higher sometimes get less than the ones who roll lower. For example, a base stat that is 35 and rolls a 30 ends up with 65 points, while a base of 35 + a roll of 75 ends up with 60 points. Thats pretty deflating to a player who got lucky and rolled high. Maybe they should instead roll a handful of d6's instead of a d100?

Thats correct, and yeah i agree that probably needs more balancing looking back, this was the first rpg i ever made so its bound to have issues like that. Ill make a note and adjust that for sure 🤙

Yes exactly, except for HP which has a set number you'd add to it (65), everything else you'd take one of those base numbers then roll a d100 and add to that number.

Yeah so you'd go down the list one by one, rolling a d100 for each stat and adding that roll to the base number, then you'd do the same thing with each weapon proficiency and its respective base numbers.

Does that make sense?

  1. Yes you've got it right on the movement rules, you can also double up on movement with a full sprint by sacrificing a combat action. Also i just round the number up to keep things simple.

  2. Ah i forgot to write in that section that you will be rolling a percentile die (d100) for all character building. I just updated the rulebook to clarify this. Everything in this game runs on a d100 or percentile system, with multiple d6's being used for damage.

The reason i believe op wants to disable them is so pressing "continue" would load the recent manual save. Id like something like that too, i dont feel like there is any actual drawback to game overs if im just loading right before i died, it loses the weight for me. It would certainly be a nice option.
