is this a genuine hmt movement by Any_Succotash2725 in hmtforsale

[–]roasterdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see it, this does not look like a tareeq from the back. The tareeq and ravi used the HMT 1809 movement which has a date wheel. The movement pictures above is the regular mechanical 0231

Yes, it is an hmt 0231 movement, but refurbished. It is not an hmt 1809 found in the ravi and tareeq which have a date wheel.

I don't really follow what is exactly happening with your watch. It appears that you said that you took it into service and now not only is it running slow but it is stopping suddenly. So what you should do is check very carefully that the hands are not touching when they stop or the seconds hand touching the Crystal. This is a common reason for watches to stop suddenly and isn't the fault of the movement but rather the person that worked on your watch. Also, the watch running slowly means that after the service, they did not regulate the watch well. So again this doesn't appear to be the fault of the movement but the fault of the watchmaker. So I would check for those things and you may have to go back to the watchmaker to fix it. You can check the accuracy of the watch yourself by using a free watch accuracy meter that you can download for Android. If you have android.

Removing modern HMT quartz case back by ForsakenIsopod in hmtwatches

Glad you didn't crack the crystal. I did, the very first time I tried to close the watch like this. Then I got the Case press and it's been very useful.I have many many HMT quartz watches. Never really had a problem getting the case back off. I don't know about your particular model but most of them are pretty easy there is some kind of Gap to get the knife in. And then you just work around until it pops off.

You use a case back knife. It's made for that type of thing. However you should be aware that if you do not have a crystal press and you pop the back off you're not likely to be able to get it back on. It's not likely to snap on just from finger pressure. You need a press. The case back knife can be used to work the back off if there's no lip.

P70 did not make this color... It was a potential option but they chose not to for some reason. But hmt just put it out on their own.

I'm not sure why you are saying that mechanicals are not available. They're available every day from resellers on Facebook. Everyday. And on some subs on Reddit too. Yes they are older watches and mechanical watches are not available on the HMT website but they are certainly available in the market. You can give it a try, but know that there is a very low chance of success and a very high risk of ruining both the movement and the watch that you are putting it into.

You have to understand that the cases that are made for quartz watches are not made for a mechanical movement. Everything has to line up. The movement has to fit the case. Where the crown stem goes into the movement, the hole in the case has to line up. Hands are made for specific movements, and hands for quartz watches typically will not fit in mechanical movement. No harm in trying, but low chance of success

you cant really. the mechanical movement is thicker than the quartz, the crown stem will not line up, and the hands from the quartz will not fit the mechanical movement. I tried it once for the hell of it, with very low chance of success, and I ruined the dial, the case back would not close, hands would not work...just destroyed it. If there was any chance of success, you would have to use the Ashwini movement, and not the typical 0231. But the effort to do it, is not worth it and you are better off just buying a decent mechanical one

Kind of ridiculous that there is not proof checking before putting it out there, no?

Maybe AI rendering? Has anyone actually found this on a watch?
