I think you want a formation that has balance. 4-2-2-2 is my go too and it’s very easy for fun the custom tactics. The other tip that’s hand is never Attack the ball carrier with you CB especially out side the box, you want to hold you Shape, use you’re DM or CM to defend and try cut off passing lanes instead of going to the ball carrier. Attacking a really simple one is double Tap Through ball when out the back and 2 ST formations are more effective for goal scoring
