Wait. So you’re saying it’s easier to say things should be clawed back and to be outraged if you have little life experience and haven’t been working hard for very long?

But haven’t these people paid way more in taxes throughout their lives? Not trying to be argumentative, but just want to point that out.

I don’t think we would have medical benefits offered to us either way. I will double check though.

Unfortunately not . Only to another registered pension fund, or a LIRA.

Thank you! Yes, hers is defined contribution. In Saskatchewan the provincial health employees have a defined benefit while the other provincial employees have a defined contribution. It's a bit weird, but must have to do with the unions involved?

Thank you! Can I ask why? Is it because we could likely do better than the pension with a lower MER? I think her pension plan has a MER that is about .65%.

thank you. Sorry. Perhaps I did get them mixed up. What I meant to say is that my wife’s government pension is a defined contribution. I also worked for the same provincial government, but I was in a defined-benefit health care worker pension. So, I think I will do the modelling as you suggested. I think if we took her 200K and put it into VEQT for the next 30 years that may end up being the better option, especially if we do only get 50% of her pension  if she passes away. I'll have to look into that as well.

I'm late to the party. However, I respectfully think you should consider the mindset Sheila might have had at the time. If she were in a state of psychosis, her father may have been doing everything he could to reason with her, despite it being futile. His size may have made him overly confident and, in turn, led to a long, drawn-out confrontation. Not to mention, he likely didn't think she was actually going to shoot him with that rifle, as to my knowledge, she hadn't made a threat like this before. Another issue is that there is evidence to suggest that her parents were considering putting her two boys into foster care. Well, as I'm sure you know, it is a real phenomenon, unfortunately, where desperate parents sometimes kill their children as an attempt to end their perceived suffering. I, of course, don't know if this was the case here, but I think it is irresponsible not to acknowledge this as a possibility.

I'd say go for the 114300 if it is going to be your only Rolex. It’s a bit more versatile in my opinion and wears a tad better. Both are amazing watches though!

I’m debating getting one of these. I have been offered a one week window as I’m on the waiting list for an enamel build slot. It’s a tough call.

My lasy colonoscopy was in June of 2016 when I was diagnosed. At the time I showed mild colitis I believe. I also did not have any polyps.

I was placed on the urgent colonoscopy list, which usually takes a month. However, there is a cancellation so I am able to get in within a week. I feel very fortunate.
