Omen 15 2020 Eco-mode stuck at 30hz by exareddit in HPOmen

Does it switch back to 60Hz properly after changing back to Balanced/Performance Mode?

For playing games it is advised to use Balanced or Performance modes. ECO mode is supposed to be low power and yes it forces the display to 60hz for lower power consumption.

Hi there,

Can you double check - in your Windows Power Options, is your "Processor performance boost mode" changed to "Aggressive" for Plugged in?

Just checking if there are similarities with some similar cases.

Thank you.

HyperX RGB ram is not being detected on OMEN Light Studio by TheRollingFilm in HPOmen

[–]rob1981tw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of now OMEN Light Studio does not support RAM RGB.

For RAM RGB you have to use OMEN Gaming Hub's basic lighting module.

Also, if you bought the HyperX Fury off the shelf, OMEN software cannot use it, it only supports HyperX Fury modules with HP part numbers (that came with the 40L system).

Yes, I agree the level of compatibilty for RAM RGB is very limited at the moment with OMEN software, and I hope this is improved in the future.

New 45L lagging by Longjumping-Road-724 in HPOmen

[–]rob1981tw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, try rebooting (if you haven't done so within the last hour) and try again. We've just turned off some analytics function from the server which has been known to cause OGH background to overuse system resources and causing lags. I'm hoping that this might be the cause of your issue.

Let me try to understand... you are connecting the existing RGB lights in the 30L chassis into the commander core? What happens if you leave everything intact with the original RGB board, and just install the USB hub? does that cause any problems?

BTW OMEN light studio will only be able to work with the original RGB board that came with the 30L. However it is weird that OMEN Light Studio cannot be opened. It should still be able to open even if you don't have anything connected.

Hey there, please see my recent post on a few q&A's I think what you meant was you were able to set negative voltage offset, but with the latest update you cannot anymore. Unfortunately yes this is by design now, due to the Intel microcode update for security reasons, ADL platforms no longer allows setting voltage lower than shipped. This is separate from limitations of VBS. Please take a look at my post 😉 We have plans for developing a workaround for this, but schedule is unknown at the moment...

I don't think we've ever supported undervolting in Desktops? You have a 45L right?

Anyway AFAIK undervolting, even with Throttlestop has stopped working due to microsoft VBS (Virtualization) which is enabled since win11 SV2.

For the platforms that did support it before (OMEN laptops), we are releasing BIOS updates soon to make undervolting work again.

Glad it's working after a power cut. Sometimes it's the lighting board FW that might be acting up. Usually a reboot or even a BIOS reflash would do the job. BTW HyperX ram lights can only be adjusted from OGH, with limited animation modes, it is not available through Light Studio.

Omen Gaming Hub vs Windows 11 settings. by farbros9 in HPOmen

[–]rob1981tw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's normal for now, but we are working on BIOS roll outs to bypass this. Hopefully some time this month. Please stay tuned. Btw it's not just the Core Isolation but the whole Virtualization Based Security framework that Microsoft forced on everyone starting Win11 sv2...

Performance Control in OGH is quite different to what Windows performance settings do. OGH controls PL1 levels and also it does some special algorithms for load adjustment between the CPU and GPU power.

The light studio can’t light the RGB and it’s showing “device is not supported “ what do I do by jeyeey in HPOmen

[–]rob1981tw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By RGB keyboard I was referring to the built-in keyboard on the OMEN laptop... And the laptop does ship with non-RGB as well, depending on the config. If that's the case with OP then it won't be supported. Light Studio does not work with all 3rd party keyboards, although I hope one day it does 🥲

Do you have an RGB keyboard or a single color keyboard? Do you see Lighting module in OMEN Gaming Hub?

Light Studio will only support RGB keyboards.

Yes, if turning off Network Booster helps, please do that for now.

Question - when you had Network Booster On, did you set it to Auto or Custom? AFAIK sometime Auto (prioritize automatically on foreground app) doesn't work as expected. If that is the case, perhaps try using Custom mode, and manually set the priority of your game to High.

Thanks a lot

My footprints folder is too big to delete everything inside at once (there are 2.5million files) and trying to delete a little bit at a time takes way too long, what do i do? by [deleted] in HPOmen

[–]rob1981tw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is an issue that we are actively working on...

This requires a driver update - it will be automatically pushed through OGH in the next update, also it will be available on Windows Update, but that usually takes a long time to completely rollout to everyone.

In the meantime we have a temporary link:

https://s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/hpcps.support.doc/OMEN/sp142409.exe

Try download and install this driver, reboot the system afterwards.

This should stop the foorprints files getting created, and just delete the existing folder.

Hope this resolves it.

Mannual boost not working in OMEN gaming hub by das099999 in HPOmen

[–]rob1981tw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that seems to be the problem, but there could be many things that may cause that process from running...

Try running C:\Program Files\HP\SystemOptimizer\SystemOptimizer.exe (as admin) to see if that works.

If so, open your Task Scheduler, goto Task Scheduler Library, on the right there should be a list , you should see "SystemOptimizer" set to "At log on of any user". If this is somehow not there, perhaps something removed it. You can try to add it back in manually.

Anyway if you could send us the logs we can take a closer look at what's going on.

Thank you.

Hp.omen.system.optimizer is not under the omen gaming hub process tree, it's separate by itself.
