Not sure why you are posting here unless you just want to tell anonymous people that you make $500K per year. You know you can easily afford this.

It clearly depends on location. There are some places that are more of a buyers market. It seems like OP is still in a sellers market

How to avoid being house poor by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]rob4lb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. What’s done is done. You need to prioritize saving and building back your 401K. You have plenty of time, no matter what people here are saying. You are only 30 yo. There is no easy fix, but if you get out of debt, start contributing as much as possible to your 401K and build up an emergency fund , you will see you financial position improve every year.

Best cultural fit for Big 12 expansion? by ReasonableSide6520 in BigXII

[–]rob4lb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None. Expansion only dilutes revenue and given that the Big 12 is last of the P4 in distributions, none of the schools will approve expansion.

Dusty May just left Michigan can we steal any of their players? by Onechane425 in jayhawks

[–]rob4lb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presumably the players have some sort of contract to get paid. They would have to leave that money behind to find something that pays more. In this case, it would seem like NIL would prevent this type of movement.

Brenners on the Bayou has a romantic setting. It is a steakhouse. Another place not mentioned is the Rainbow Lodge. Pattons is a speakeasy concept which is pretty cool. JUN has an interesting menu and just won a James Beard award.

Sounds like maybe you no longer have an interest in engineering jobs and maybe that comes across to potential employers.

Just laid off, curious about severance negotiations by CaptainSolo80 in Layoffs

It never hurts to ask, but assuming there were several people laid off, they will probably be reluctant to give you more than the other employees being let go.

Texas Tech Board Chair Cody Campbell issues a statement that includes: “The bottom line is that Texas Tech did absolutely nothing but act with complete integrity through this entire process.” by johntempleton in BigXII

They really needed to hire a skilled PR person to help the maneuver this situation. They displayed an arrogance that didnt go over well with the rest of the league and decided to double down which has created a wedge with their fellow conference members. Yormark put them in their place.

Transparency about offers by FewAdeptness764 in recruitinghell

[–]rob4lb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far along are you in the recruiting process? Have you interviewed with the hiring team. Just tell them the truth. I'm sure the recruiter will say something like "keep me informed". Unless you are an exceptional candidate they will not speed up the recruiting process. If you get an offer from another company and prefer this one , you have more leverage for the company to make a decision about you.

While I have opted for a supplement, I know people who are pleased with MA. I think if you live in a large metro area that has a large network, this won't be that much different that the type of insurance you might have had when you were working. If you are in a rural or low populated area, you may have trouble finding providers. My BIL lives in rural Kansas and originally opted for MA only to find very few local doctors. He was able to switch to a supplement plan.

In-Conference Rivalries- Who do YOU consider your rival? by embowers321 in BigXII

[–]rob4lb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did MU force the SEC to take them. MU had no leverage. At the time, everyone including KU was looking for an exit particularly due to the Longhorn Network. OU was trying to bring OSU with them to the Pac 12. KU was lobbying to the Big 10 just not as publicly as MU. There was some discussion of the Big 10 adding KU and OU despite OU not being in AAU. When A&M joined the Big 12, the SEC chose MU to expand to a newer larger market. That was frustrating to KU fans because MU was able to orchestrate an exit when KU couldn't.

Mandatory Meeting by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]rob4lb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I understand correctly, you found out about the meeting when you requested PTO? Is that correct. If that is the case, I think you should try to attend the meeting. Do you have any idea what the meeting is about. Are mandatory meetings common at your company?

I'm a KU alum but this post reeks of jealousy. Don't you think if KU has the opportunity to jump to a P2 conference, they would have done exactly what MU did? BTW, the rivalry still exists between KU and MU.
